It was one of the best hamburgers we have ever had. We still talk about it and its been three weeks since we were in Hawaii. “My husband and I ate there when we were famished and the food came out quickly and hot. The seafood platter was delicious and contained shrimp, breaded squid, breaded oysters and breaded white fish. That was my husband’s dish and he truly enjoyed it. I, on the other hand had grilled mahi mahi, green salad, onion rings and beef stew. We both tried everything and the food was to our liking. The staff was very accommodating when we asked for e tea lemons and a to-go set up (bag & container). The restaurant was clean and the food was hot, quick and delicious! Kuddos for a meal and job well done!“

And I loved that they also sold locally made sourdough bread and tons of other goodies sold by local artists and bakers! We also got the chia peanut butter bites that were delicious! You gotta try them! I would highly recommend coming here! They have such a diversity of drink and smoothie and Acai bowl options that you won’t have a hard time finding a drink or snack you like!“

“Underrated place… a hidden gem focusing on quality ingredients. Good place to bring kids to play arcade style games for a very little amount of money. The owners seem like very kind and genuine people. They should be proud of this place. 100% worth checking it out. Could be a staple in Kona in the future!“

“We stayed at the Marriott and swung in to the coffee shop for breakfast. The drinks were perfect - latte had a nice layer of foam, and a heart to boot. The Ube cold brew was unexpectedly delicious - easy to see why it's a staff pick! We tried two different croffles and honestly I dont know why people make real waffles anymore, when they can have one of these instead. The waffle was PERFECTION, layered and crispy and buttery and chewy in the best ways. I ordered the garlic bread grilled cheese and would eat it every day if I had the chance. The chips were nicely seasoned too! Breakfast sandwich was eaten too fast by my husband to take a picture, but I heard it was good.

2 drinks, 2 croffles, grilled cheese and a breakfast sandwich was $58 before tip. Definitely reasonable considering island pricing (I actually think I pay more for a large latte in Minnesota than we paid here!)

11/10 would recommend - we'll probably go back for breakfast tomorrow!“

“We loved this place…the king combo meal was amazing and plenty of food to share between two of us. The pork and bulgogi were so tender and flavored perfectly. We were introduced to bingsu and life will never be the same…the texture, the flavor, the portions, the “real” ingredients were simply wonderful. Service was a little slow a couple of times (we went 5 times) but it was because it was so busy and popular. Put this place on your must-do for Kona! Oh, and don’t get me started on the mochi donuts!“

We stopped here on our last day in Kona before going to the airport and were satisfied with our experience. We needed to eat a quality meal and were filled up until late at night
My daughter loves orange chicken and chow mein so that was one of the entrees we ordered. The only thing is the chicken needs more “flavoring “ instead of just semi - sweet sauce and chicken taste. The chow mein was delicious but not the chicken as much.
My spouse enjoyed his beef bowl and we were able to grab a side of their orange soda to top it off.
Overall I do recommend this little deli - come support !! 🍛🍲“

“Previous to this I had poke one time and didn’t like it. I followed the advice of a fellow tourist who said I had to try Da Poke Shop and if I didn’t like that then I truly don’t like poke. Well, after my visit I can say I really like poke! Da Poke Shop was great! I had the bowl, and got a scoop of spicy garlic and shop special with a side of seaweed salad and white rice. It was awesome! I’ll be back the next time I’m in the area. Eat here, you won’t regret it!“

“I have always loved the smell of coffee, but unfortunately could not get past the acidic taste. Kona coffee café introduced me to Peaberry Kona coffee. This is the first time that I have ever been able to drink coffee let alone really enjoy it. The friendly staff explained how the volcanic soil and the timing of picking the bean changed the acidity in the coffee. Since being home, I’ve already placed an order and I am enjoying my coffee every morning. Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing drink!“

“I was genuinely surprised by the amount and quality of food I got here. I ordered a lunch platter with teriyaki chicken, white rice, and salad. $11 plus tax. “I went to the Hilo location with my mother last night and was treated in a very racist and disgusting manner by the FOH staff. There were many empty tables yet the host avoided talking to us for a half hour. Then when I asked one of the waiters if we can sit at one of the open tables he said, "He cant let us do that" Then when I finally was able to talk to the host. He said it would be a 40 min wait for food. Ok I get it, the kitchen is swamped. So I say can we just sit right there pointing at the table he just cleaned. He says "no". Keep in mind there were at least four more empty tables. So we decided to leave. On the way out the thought comes into my mind, that he is going to seat the people who walked in behind us. So I tell my mother to wait a second and I go back in to look and there goes the host immediately seating these people bringing them water and menus. So I head back in and ask him "Whats going on here? Can I talk to a manager?" He tells me there are no managers. Then the waiter at the bar who said he couldnt do anything to let us sit down, says "I am the manager" So they lied to my face. Then I go to the bartender she barely bothers to tall to me and says "we are all managers" and that then tries to defend this discriminatory behavior by saying they are not being prejudiced against us. Yet the people behind us are chilling and going over their menus. and here we are not able to even talk to a manager never the less receive service at this racist establishment. We were systemically blocked from sitting. Then some manager esque fellow comes out trying to do damage control after all of this ongoing nonsense. To little to late. Im not going to eat spit burger with some bigot lougies in it. Mind you both my 76 year old mother have hosted various business meet ups there over the yeara bringing them business supporting Ola Brew and they treat us like this. Do not support businesses like this in Hilo. black people of Hilo be aware. This place will treat you second class. Over priced too, for the worst kind of service. dont do it, dont eat there.“
