“This was not only the best latte I had in Kona, but honestly the best latte I’ve ever had.
The details matter and this spot knows it.
From the chocolate covered coffee bean on the top of the cup, to the actual shot of espresso. It was so delicious. Extra points for being a shop that’s open early.
The chocolate macadamia nut cookie was also delicious.
This place packs a punch for being a coffee truck.“

“New favorite breakfast / cafe spot in Kona. Everything exceeded our expectations from the food to the service to even the fun table markers they put on the table when you order. Probably one of the best açaí bowls I’ve had in all of Hawaii (don’t forget to add peanut butter) and something about the way they cook their eggs in the jet lag wrap is drool worthy. Have not been able to enjoy their coffees but they have so many fun options. Will definitely be back…. All the time.“

“I ordered an Acai smoothie with almond butter drizzle. And my mom got a mocha frappe. Both were very delicious! This coffee shop has plenty of parking and seating inside is ample. Great place for families, remote workers or a place to chat with a friend. The baristas were super friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. They have vegan options for drinks here and food. And I loved that they also sold locally made sourdough bread and tons of other goodies sold by local artists and bakers! We also got the chia peanut butter bites that were delicious! You gotta try them! I would highly recommend coming here! They have such a diversity of drink and smoothie and Acai bowl options that you won’t have a hard time finding a drink or snack you like!“

“Fantastic Acai bowls. We visited recently from the UK and as soon as we discovered them we returned every day until we left!!“
“An absolute diamond in the rough. Our family of four was visiting from Maui and had breakfast here and everything was yummy, wholesome, and not loaded down with butter/grease like so many other breakfast menus. Plenty of free parking and a very friendly staff. Definitely coming back the next time we’re in Kona.“

“Kona Coffee Outlet is my favorite and best coffee company.
The owner is very kind and welcoming, and you can really tell how high-quality the coffee beans are.
The coffee tastes amazing and is absolutely worth coming back for.
I shared it with a friend, and they loved it just as much as I did.
Highly recommend!“

“We went on the Kona orchard tour and it was amazing! The guide was entertaining and hilarious! I laughed so much! The chocolate was so delicious! I highly recommend this tour!“
“You can tell that Malama understands there is a shortage of affordable and quick coffee spots for locals to go to on their way to/from work (or any other time). I appreciate their fair prices and fast service. Drive through only but they are only a couple blocks from Ola A’s if you want to take your coffee and enjoy the ocean views. Mahalo Malama!“
“I have always loved the smell of coffee, but unfortunately could not get past the acidic taste. Kona coffee café introduced me to Peaberry Kona coffee. This is the first time that I have ever been able to drink coffee let alone really enjoy it. The friendly staff explained how the volcanic soil and the timing of picking the bean changed the acidity in the coffee. Since being home, I’ve already placed an order and I am enjoying my coffee every morning. Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing drink!“

“We stayed at the Marriott and swung in to the coffee shop for breakfast. The drinks were perfect - latte had a nice layer of foam, and a heart to boot. The Ube cold brew was unexpectedly delicious - easy to see why it's a staff pick! We tried two different croffles and honestly I dont know why people make real waffles anymore, when they can have one of these instead. The waffle was PERFECTION, layered and crispy and buttery and chewy in the best ways. I ordered the garlic bread grilled cheese and would eat it every day if I had the chance. The chips were nicely seasoned too! Breakfast sandwich was eaten too fast by my husband to take a picture, but I heard it was good.
2 drinks, 2 croffles, grilled cheese and a breakfast sandwich was $58 before tip. Definitely reasonable considering island pricing (I actually think I pay more for a large latte in Minnesota than we paid here!)
11/10 would recommend - we'll probably go back for breakfast tomorrow!“

“Both the food and drinks were amazing - the French slam and caramel mocha frappe were particularly phenomenal.
And on top of all that, service was spectacular! The staff was extremely friendly and couldn’t have been better. Would very highly recommend visiting!“
“Superb coffee!! The BEST in Hawaii, hands down and in my opinion, the BEST in the world!! Yes, I did visit most of the coffee farms on the Big Island and others across the islands. Not only is the coffee exceptional, the chocolate is also delicious. The quality and price cannot be beaten anywhere in Hawaii!“

“When in kona you must grab something from here. Everything is amazing and the people are awesome.“
“Awesome counter-service coffee shop where you can get a coffee, tea, or sausage breakfast sandwich. You can eat it outside with views of the pier. Across the street is an ABC store where you can browse after. Inside Hamakua Coffee it is airy and spacious. This place is quite crowded since it's in the center of the tourist area.“

“The girl who worked there was super nice. We went for açaí bowls as my husband is Brazilian and we had just had a long day at the beach, and I needed a coffee. The açaí bowls was $19 which my husband thought was not worth it, especially as there was more toppings than açaí. I was bummed that the only milk options for coffee were vegan, but the other coffee/açaí shops within walking distance were close, so we went here because I liked the name 😆 I went elsewhere for my coffee but the kids liked their ice cream, from tropical dreams. Overall, maybe the açaí bowls aren't too bad if you're not a Brazilian with expectations. 😉“

“On island for a wedding. No car rental. Walked to the nearest Starbucks- 0.86 miles. Got the first cup of walk-in business at 5:35 am. They made it the way I like and it tasted great. I can always rely on Starbucks for a consistently excellent experience.“

“There are many coffee farms in the Kaileau-Kona area but Mountain Thunder really stole our heart. It is up in the hills, amid the most gorgeous plants and trees and views. We took the free tour where they showed us how they make their coffee and what makes Kona coffee so special. I learned so much.
The added bonus was getting to take the cloud forest tour for $10. So many beautiful things to see and they welcome you to stop and stay and enjoy yourself without the high prices some other places charge. Gift shop is full of more things than your suitcases can hold! And free tastings!“
