“Maui Brewing was the perfect setting to celebrate our first empty-nester trip-watching the US Open and Ben Shelton beating the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a historic thrilling five-set quarterfinal match!

“Very good beer.. Rice Lagers are a favorite style and I’ve found lots of them on Oahu. Prices were among the highest on this trip but hey I get it we are in Hawaii. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and a good vibe from the other patrons. If we were local we’d be back!“
“If you are a craft brewery fan, you must stop here. Very nice variety of styles. We shared a flight of all 8 they have and all were very good. I ended up ordering a full pour of their Mamaki Lager. Never had anything quite like it. Very refreshing. The staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive. Not a tourist trap at all. We enjoyed our beer while watching the prep and boarding of the star of Honolulu which provides music and hula dancing for the passengers. You can also order cocktails here as many early arrivals did. I try to visit local breweries wherever I travel and I'm glad I made it to this one.“

Beers were nice, good selection of local brews and all I tried were delicious. I came in right after they opened on a weekday, but there were still plenty people and a good atmosphere.
They had comfortable couches and recliners along with tables if you wish to order food, and a small shelf of card and board games, along with outlets and free wifi. A great alternative to a coffee shop to get some work done on your laptop.

“Hana Koa is easily one of my favorite spots in Kakaʻako. I’ve been multiple times, ordered all kinds of things and honestly — I’ve never had anything bad here.
The food is consistently good. I’ve had the ramen, gone for Sunday brunch and tried plenty of things in between, but a couple of things deserve their own shoutout: the kimchi is TOP TIER and the spicy pickles are a must. Seriously, get the kimchi.
And don’t sleep on the cocktails just because this is a brewery. Their cocktail program is 10/10. Crimes of Passion is probably my favorite — especially if you’re a mezcal person like me. So good.
The bartenders are always super friendly, laid-back and genuinely fun to sit and chat with. And listen… some of them are pretty cute too. 😂
Whether I’m stopping in for brunch, ramen, a cocktail or just whatever sounds good that day, Hana Koa never disappoints. Great food, great drinks and an easygoing vibe that keeps me coming back.

“During our stop, we tried a few of their local selections: Aloha Blonde, Hop Lei IPA, Aloha Lager, and Red Zeppelin—the last one was my husband’s favorite. The brewery also features a spacious dog-friendly Beer Garden taproom, merch shop, and brewery tours.

“We had a group of eight and were seated at a super location at a comfortable table. They were really above and beyond in accommodating our large group. Service was also superb. Some items on the menu were "not available," which was disappointing. Those who ordered burgers commented on how good they were. I had the fish sandwich, which was meh. Also, no GF choices. — the menu has never come back to what it once was, and I know there are many reasons why, but still... it's a competitive industry.“

“Enjoyed our dining experience but surprised when the bill did not show there would be an extra charge for using a credit card. Only saw that on the paper receipt after our waitress ran our card into handheld machine by our table. She never said anything prior to my husband signing for the final charge.“
