Best restaurant in Kailua! We love the food, the people and the atmosphere! They make you feel special every time you come in.
Thank y’all for one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. As I sat quietly and enjoyed dinner alone tonight, I was moved by food, and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It was simple, but the attention to detail and nuance of flavors were perfect. Like that scene from Ratatouille, every dish I had tonight triggered my nostalgia in a very real, personal, and emotional way. Faria: a Pasifika Portuguese Restaurant offers a fun and intimate dining atmosphere. It is perfect for a first date, a gathering of friends, or family of up to 6-8 people. The food is superb and delicious. The owner and staff are awesome, welcoming, and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the bathroom is lovely. Guests have enjoyed meals including croquettes, sardines, garlic pork (Vinha d'alhos), seafood stew, a Clam appetizer special, salad, salt and vinegar wings, Portuguese Bean Soup, bread, and a custard tart. The Portuguese Bean Soup is outstanding, and the salt and vinegar wings put Safeway and Foodland to shame. The garlic pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with magical cabbage. The custard tart was a perfect end. The croquettes were very flavorful with nice texture. The sardines were disappointing, and the seafood stew was salty. The price was good for Hawaii. Some feel it is solid but do not quite get the hype, while others call it top 3 and say it is definitely worth the drive out to Kailua. Many will definitely return.
