“This hole in the wall is a must go to. A very large menu with a variety of items. Only issue is the language barrier. They speak very little English but very manageable by pointing at the menu. Everything was freshly made. Had a vegetarian with me along these travels and hands down Kupo said this is one of the best veggie menus and plates Kupo has had. So a must try when visiting.“

“Our Sunday multi-table extended family banquet for college grad grand son was outstanding!!! Our 10menu items were delicious, hot, generously plated, and a great value. Service attention was excellent, allowing prompt transition to family provided deserts.
Plenty of room at and between tables for conversation, visiting, and keiki sharing! Mahlo nui loa!!!!“

“I really like this restaurant! You can choose the plate size and see all the options. If you’re not sure, ask to taste . We usually get a bigger plate to share for $14 – such a good deal. The orange chicken and Beijing beef are a must. It’s a fast option, and they have parking too.“

“Whoa, Lam's Garden's food Rocks! We went 2/15/26, and have now found the best Vietnamese food place, in Hilo! There was a short wait, but they have chairs to sit and wait. There's a sign in sheet too, and huge tv's on the wall, so you can watch stuff. 2026 is starting off great, by trying out all the places we didn't go to, for the past 5 years! Definitely returning!“

“Another one of my favorite places to go to for dinner. Their Phó is amazing!“
“Yen’s restaurant is one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants which does have a mix of Vietnamese dishes and drinks. It’s hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in Hilo and am happy to say that their food is fresh and tasty.
We had the spring rolls, pork rice plate and chicken with string beans rice plate. Had the standard Vietnamese coffee (yum!) and one of their interesting cold coffees (brewed coffee with pandan extract and condensed milk)….very good and refreshing! If you prefer it to be less sweet, simply ask for less condensed milk, like I did. We’re definitely planning on going back again to try other dishes.
DO note their current hours: Wednesdays - Fridays, 10:30am - 7:30pm.
This restaurant has been around, serving the Hilo community, for many years and glad they’re still around! Service was good and the restaurant is clean and well organized. Though it’s not a big place (a plus in my books!), it does have a nice ambience with comfortable seating arrangements. There’s some parking space in front of the restaurant as well. Always feel good to support local businesses that do a good job. Highly recommend this family business! Cheers!“

“Panda Express in Hawaii is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly delicious — easily the best Chinese fast food you’ll find on the islands. The service is impressively fast, making it perfect for a quick meal without compromising on taste.
The prices are great value for money, not expensive at all, especially considering the generous portions they serve. The restaurant also has proper seating, so you can comfortably dine in. Car parking is available, which makes the visit even more convenient.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and takeaway options are also available for those on the go. Overall, Panda Express Hawaii delivers top-quality food, convenience, and great service.
Highly recommend!❤️“

“Primarily a take-out place for locals, but I always dine in. Big menu. Lots of variety. Service is always friendly. Limited drink selection. Prices are reasonable. It's a laid-back local place, and people are nice to each other. I love the place.“

“The food here is awesome exact same food at lings. However last time I went in for my sons birthday party she overcharged me almost $300. My wife got really upset and wanted an itemized receipt So she gave us one and that’s when the $700 bill went down to $400. Will that stop me from going there? No but after that experience I check my receipt all the time.“

“We've been twice in last month. Once for lunch and second time for dinner. We brought our friends with us for dinner. We all had a good meal.
Vegetarian options: Freshly prepared with good sauces and appealingly presented.
Parking: This restaurant is co-located with a couple other restaurants, a large Walmart and Office Max and Ross clothing store. Thus parking is ample but shared by many establishments. And this area is nearly always very busy. Not impossible to park but not always convenient. Handicap parking, though seemingly numerous is always in high demand.“

“This is a gem of a restaurant, offering a fusion of Southeast Asian specialties. If you want to grab something fresh and delicious, but don't have time to wait, their lunch special is for you! From 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, you get your choice of rice or one of two types of noodles plus 1, 2 or 3 other items from the buffet. I got chow mein noodles plus the Tofu Eggplant. It came to $12.95, which is very reasonable for Hawaii and was quite filling. Definitely high quality ingredients. The eggplant was sweet and tender, the tofu was well prepared, and the noodles were fresh. The sauce was full of umami flavor with just a touch of heat. Perfect! You can sit inside a bright, inviting dining room or outside at a table in the shade and cool breeze. The young lady that waited on me was very sweet and helpful. Highly recommend!“
