“Good value for the price. We stopped on our way to the Hawaiian Volcano National Park. They were very accommodating because we wanted to eat a little bit of food and take the rest as takeout. But they still gave us plates and steel utensils to eat at the restaurant along with the takeout containers. They were very kind. Thank you.“

“I really like this restaurant! You can choose the plate size and see all the options. If you’re not sure, ask to taste . We usually get a bigger plate to share for $14 – such a good deal. The orange chicken and Beijing beef are a must. It’s a fast option, and they have parking too.“

“Whoa, Lam's Garden's food Rocks! We went 2/15/26, and have now found the best Vietnamese food place, in Hilo! There was a short wait, but they have chairs to sit and wait. There's a sign in sheet too, and huge tv's on the wall, so you can watch stuff. 2026 is starting off great, by trying out all the places we didn't go to, for the past 5 years! Definitely returning!“

“Panda Express in Hawaii is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly delicious — easily the best Chinese fast food you’ll find on the islands. The service is impressively fast, making it perfect for a quick meal without compromising on taste.
The prices are great value for money, not expensive at all, especially considering the generous portions they serve. The restaurant also has proper seating, so you can comfortably dine in. Car parking is available, which makes the visit even more convenient.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and takeaway options are also available for those on the go. Overall, Panda Express Hawaii delivers top-quality food, convenience, and great service.
Highly recommend!❤️“

“Recently ordered just the pho broth and veggies. Veggies were packed separately include the hoisin and chilis! Broth was flavorful and hot!
I have been going to this place since it first opened. The food, service and family is amazing and wonderful and the consistency has never changed.
Thank you for serving the Big Island all these years and in the future!“
“Yen’s restaurant is one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants which does have a mix of Vietnamese dishes and drinks. It’s hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in Hilo and am happy to say that their food is fresh and tasty.
We had the spring rolls, pork rice plate and chicken with string beans rice plate. Had the standard Vietnamese coffee (yum!) and one of their interesting cold coffees (brewed coffee with pandan extract and condensed milk)….very good and refreshing! If you prefer it to be less sweet, simply ask for less condensed milk, like I did. We’re definitely planning on going back again to try other dishes.
DO note their current hours: Wednesdays - Fridays, 10:30am - 7:30pm.
This restaurant has been around, serving the Hilo community, for many years and glad they’re still around! Service was good and the restaurant is clean and well organized. Though it’s not a big place (a plus in my books!), it does have a nice ambience with comfortable seating arrangements. There’s some parking space in front of the restaurant as well. Always feel good to support local businesses that do a good job. Highly recommend this family business! Cheers!“

“The food here is awesome exact same food at lings. However last time I went in for my sons birthday party she overcharged me almost $300. My wife got really upset and wanted an itemized receipt So she gave us one and that’s when the $700 bill went down to $400. Will that stop me from going there? No but after that experience I check my receipt all the time.“

“We've been twice in last month. Once for lunch and second time for dinner. We brought our friends with us for dinner. We all had a good meal.
Vegetarian options: Freshly prepared with good sauces and appealingly presented.
Parking: This restaurant is co-located with a couple other restaurants, a large Walmart and Office Max and Ross clothing store. Thus parking is ample but shared by many establishments. And this area is nearly always very busy. Not impossible to park but not always convenient. Handicap parking, though seemingly numerous is always in high demand.“

“We had one day in Hilo. We tried two restaurants. This was our choice for dinner. Walked in and two regulars were waiting for food. We asked for suggestions and they did not disappoint. The menu is HUGE. We ordered the grilled garlic mahi mahi and the crispy ginger chicken with fried rice. Both were spectacular. We took the food to go, and went down the street to watch the clouds and crazy ocean and ate in our vehicle overlooking the ocean at Carlsmith Beaxh. This was the perfect end to our one day in Hilo. The employees were friendly, the portions were perfect, and the price was the most budget friendly we’ve had on the island (also went to Volcano and Kona).“
