“Omg. Visiting from Oregon, originally from Pittsburgh. This is by far the best pizza I have had since leaving the east coast 12 years ago. We honestly weren’t expecting much… but was absolutely blown away. We had a classic pepperoni and cheese and the artichoke and feta pizzas. This pizza made me want to move to Hana just to eat here every day!!!”

“As a self proclaimed foodie, this place is insane!!! ? One of the best most interesting bbq we’ve had and definitely one of the best meals we’ve had so far on our trip around Maui. The portions are huge. There’s no vegan options for those looking. (This is probably obvious since it’s a bbq joint but we saw a family leave after they realized there was no vegan option)
Vegetarian options: No meatless options unless you order it that way”

“Excellent food!! Be prepared to wait. This place was a gem we found on our trip to Hāna. They have a small place with plenty of outdoor seating with views of the mountain. The food was hot and spicy - just like we asked for. We ordered the drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice and Thai Iced teas. Highly recommend.”

“The owner was so pleasant every time we stopped by during our stay in Hana. The coffee was delicious and the banana bread was the best we had in Maui! She also had great recommendations for things to do during our stay. We can’t wait to visit again!”
“If you take the Road to Hana, this food truck is a must-stop. This unassuming place has the most delicious food we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing in Maui. Feel like the cook attended culinary school based on the presentation of my meal. A very pleasant surprise.”

“Thanks Maui Garden Cafe for your kindness in helping me to contact AAA, and in rescuing me and my 3-legged Nissan, and for charging my dead phone until the tow truck arrived. Thanks to your lending me your phone and your precise directions, I was able to return the rental car in Kihei, and was provided another Sentra to "break-in"..... Best Regards and Happy New Year!!! Steve”

“A must-stop, the banana bread is SO good! Super dense and moist. Take a gander and watch the waves across the street while you eat your bread, lol. The line was long-ish (this is a popular tourist spot), but it moved very quickly. We also got their fruit smoothie and it was very fresh and good!
Dietary restrictions: Not a lot of gluten free options. My fiancé with celiac got the fruit smoothie. Missed out on the banana bread, poor guy!
Parking: Parking scattered throughout the street. This is a super busy tourist spot as well as a residential area.”

“Stopped at the Island Chef (mm 29) on our way back from Hana and man did it hit the spot! We ordered the fish and chips, coconut shrimp, and barbecue pork tacos and they were all delicious! The couple who run it are so lovely and friendly, won’t disappoint!”

“Now this was amazing, crispy fish, crispy fries. I didn’t quite catch the name of the black sauce… but I think it was a mix of soy sauce with something. Anyways the fish and chips were great on its own, but the addition of a sauces was chef’s kiss. This would be a must try in my opinion.”

“Great Hawaiian plate lunch in a beautiful setting on the road to Hana. Open pit bbq using Hawaiian mesquite that gives an amazing flavor to the chicken and ribs. Friendly folks running the joint too—a must stop for the trip to Hana!”

“Hana Harvest Cafe is a highly recommended stop! Josh, the owner, was more than welcoming and personable. He showed us around the farm and even provided us with food to feed the new piglets. The coffee was the best we’ve had in Maui so far!!”

“Hana has surprisingly few places open for breakfast. We were very grateful that the Restaurant at Hana Maui was open, so we didn’t have to hike the Pipiwai on an empty stomach. The food was pricey, but it was high quality and delicious. The papaya boat was easily the best we had on Maui…but again, not cheap. The tables on the lanai overlook the lush grounds and the ocean beyond - such a beautiful and relaxing way to start our day.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free items are clearly labeled on the menu
Parking: Free parking is located in the hotel lot across the street.”
“We made a pitstop on our journey to the Seven Sacred Pools at Haleakala. Butter and garlic shrimp and chips were cooked fresh to order and delicious. At least two cloves of garlic in our six shrimp!”

“Spectacular food and with a stunning view of the water. After driving the "Road to Hana", this was fantastic place to rest and eat. All of the food was delicious. You must try the ribs and onion rings!!! Even the French fries were hot and crispy. I had the tuna poke wontons. The tuna was so fresh. Note, when you leave, go back the way you came. Back through the road to Hana. We went right and it was a nightmare!”

“Stumbled upon this place on the road to Hana. It smelled awesome so we had to stop. The mixed BBQ plate was awesome. It had pork, chicken, rice and a fern salad. It was all so delicious. The guy working the grill was super friendly and cool. The seating is in old tram cars. The "plates" are big chunks of bamboo. The utensils are hand cut bamboo chopsticks. I can't say enough about how incredible this place was. It is a must stop on your road to Hana.”

“We had a great experience at the Laudree restaurant. We had an impromptu gender reveal where we asked our waiter to bring us colored macarons after showing them a card with the gender written on it. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, brought us complimentary macarons with a golden lid covering them and a couple champagne flutes, they unveiled them so ceremoniously and even announced to the other guests and everyone clapped making our experience extra special. We're so grateful to the whole staff for making our day so memorable.”
