“A good restaurant to be sure, the food was good, but not excellent tasting.First, I would say that the service is great, the employees are very kind and friendly, they patiently answered all of our questions about the large variety of plates they had to offer. We tried 3 different plates, and the serving sizes are generous.I requested a "mixed salad" instead of the mac' n cheese, and rice, which came included in my order, I'm not sure what was "mixed" about it, considering that the 3 tomato slices were laid across a bed of iceberg lettuce. The only salad dressing they had was a ranch dressing. If you like ranch, then I guess you are in luck!Their hot mustard sauce is OK, it tastes like watered down wasabi mixed with regular yellow mustard.Their fish sauce/ tartar sauce was really good on the seafood combo plate.“
“hands down the cleanest L&L on the island! we were blown away last night by the amazing service and quality of our food. we've been to L&L in multiple locations on the island of Hawaii and were very impressed with this location. I loved the mural on the wall, the woman, Kainoa that took our order was so awesome, very professional and nice! Justin was our cook and he obviously cares about what he's doing and takes pride in his cooking. my husband got a burger and we noticed right away, the buns are not the typical L&L buns and the fries are even better. this L&L obviously cares about quality. kids got Teri beef plates. I had the garlic shrimp plate. we will definitely be coming back next time we are on this side of the island.“
“This place is great. Went there for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Stopped on the way home from visiting VNP. Walked in and was a bit surprised as there wasn't much seating as place was small. However the food made up for all that. They serve a variety of Hawaiian plate options, sandwiches, burgers and poke. There were 4 of us. 2 ordered the burgers and 2 the poke. Poke was nice and fresh. The burgers are awesome and for the price $6.99 for single $9.99 for double you can't beat it. Mind you the burgers are just burgers nothing comes with it including any condiments no lettuce tomatoes etc but they do provide ketchup and mustard. Which I don't mind as I'm pretty much a no frills burger gal anyways. Each patty is 4 oz. and they taste great! We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back. Folks working there very friendly. I live in Keaau and will gladly take a ride up to Kurtistown just for the burger and maybe a side of sushi.“
“Ok wow. So we're staying in Pāhoa and were curious to check out the food trucks in town. Pretty sure we were the first customers, but we ordered brisket sandwich with Cole slaw and chips. The brisket is so tender and delicious. There was plenty for the sandwich and then some left over to just munch on. The flavor was great and it was the perfect pit stop before heading out to Hilo. Out of the two food trucks we tried in the area, this was by far our favorite and exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend supporting this small local business that serves incredible bbq! Mahalo!“
