“We ordered the fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, steakhouse burger, and stuffed chicken. All was A+. My sister had the fish and chips which was also delicious. The prices are much better than the surrounding resort restaurants. Service was top knotch. The only thing that slightly bugged me was how loud it is. Either way, I would definitely come again.“
“Ya know. I read the reviews and have to say this was my fav spot at the Hilton. First to have Kona tap room aka Kona beer here is a win as I was planning to drive to the brewery itself. The beer itself is #1. The service at the bar was good. I ate here two night and the Kalua pork slider and the Kona poke nachos were a hit! Winner!“
“Our 2nd time to visit in a week so you know we are fans. The appetizer of Brussels sprouts is OUTSTANDING so we got that again. My husband had the filet, which he loved. It was 5PM on a Sunday & they were out of A1 steak sauce. I had the Bungalow salad & it was excellent. The hot rolls & butter are amazing. Our guest had the Creole shrimp & crab pasta dish & she enjoyed it as well. Key Lime Pie is a must for dessert - tangy & delicious. Our server, Tara, is wonderful, attentive & helpful with suggestions. We had requested to be in her section again & was fortunate enough to be able to sit in a booth that she handled. Overall, a wonderful meal & we will be back.“
“Terrific experience. One member of our party can't eat gluten and they made it super simple: everything on the menu can be made gluten free. Only minor negative is I wish it was located closer to the beach. It would have made the views better. Otherwise, nothing to fault.“
“Best place for cocktails and delicious food in a casually elegant welcoming environment. Great people, delicious food, a beautiful wine list, and tasty cocktails. It my favourite Waimea happy hour and dinner spot. Love the people who make it happen!“
“We loved this restaurant. We went there for our anniversary dinner, and even though we made a late reservation they were able to seat us right by the ocean balcony. The host, manager and waitress were all extremely helpful and considerate. The food was AMAZING, and the atmosphere was pleasant and casual. The music was a little loud, but when they put us out by the ocean all we could hear were the waves so it didn't matter anymore. I can honestly say I have never had a more pleasant dining experience and would recommend this place to anyone. While expensive, I can honestly say that by the end of the meal I would have paid double and still been ok with it (but I'm glad I didn't have to ?). We liked it so much we are planning to go back at least one more time before we leave the island. 5 out of 5 stars- hands down!“
“Hale Kai is all about the ocean views, but the food makes it worth whatever wait you will have. First time there, we enjoyed the chicken tacos and grilled swordfish sandwich, both delicious. Later in our stay, the grilled ono and hamburger were solid if not spectacular. Had to end up vacation with Kona Coffee Mud Pie -- oh my was it exceptionally tasty!!“
“I've been to big island so many times, but I never knew this place existed! We were looking for a beach side dinner to celebrate my birthday. And we heard our favorite server from Mauna Lani moved to Naupaka so we had to check it out. Rhell was attentive and is entertaining as usual. And he made the recommendations that inspired tonight's dinner. Aside from the beautiful sunset and sounds of the waves, the meal was absolutely amazing. Calamari was crispy and plentiful. I loved the light airy breading and it wasn't oily. The fall off the bone tender ribs were so delicious. Classic bbq ribs tray with pineapple coleslaw. A nice touch I must say. But my favorite part of dinner was the pan roasted chicken. The broccolini and carrots were well roasted and seasoned. The buttery soft whipped potatoes were delicious clouds. But the chicken and the au jus were sensational. I wasn't even that hungry, but the portions were nice. And they brought out a complimentary dessert and song for my special day. I feel so special! Directions: Head to Hapuna Beach Hotel, throw the shaka at the security guard at the entrance, and proceed under the highway bridge. There's self parking and valet parking. Make your way down to the pool and it's next to their resort pool.“
“Party of six showing up at prime dinner time. No problem getting seating. The southpaw colada is amazing. A taste sensation. A hula in your mouth. Don't forget to eat the dried lime. So good. The mai Tai is a great way to end you day and begin your night. The keiki enjoyed their burgers. Grandma liked her burger. The vegan curry was stellar. Good amount of spice. The fish tacos are on point. Perfectly cooked to fall apart in your mouth. The mochiko chicken is an interesting take on fired chicken, Korean flair. Also it really says a lot when mangers and owners walk around to make sure dinner is good. I really appreciate when they do that.Dietary restrictions: They do cater to allergies just be sure to tell the waiter of your needs.“
