“Great experience overall! The food was delicious, and everyone in our family from toddler to senior enjoyed it. We had a great experience we came back a second time. Being mexican we compare, and they got pretty close to authentic. Would highly recommend trying out Chabelitas. The service was also very fast and if you needed anything they are always attentive. The price is good for Hawaii and very much worth it. I had a carne asada burrito and the fried level was great, my family had the flautas, chalupa and a chorizo and egg taco.“

“The BEST quesabirria I’ve ever had, coming from a self-proclaimed quesabirria connoisseur. When we landed in Maui this was the first place we came to. It was so good that we made the half hour drive to come back a few days later. The steak burrito and chicken tacos were also delicious. The owner is from Mexico and all of the dishes are authentic family recipes. My only wish is that we had more time to come back and try more of her dishes!! The service is great, the food is delicious, and they were also very accommodating to gluten allergies. Definitely check them out!“

The chicken was flavorful and cooked just right, the tortillas were legit (no cracking, no falling apart mid-bite—always a silent test), but the real magic? The crema and fresh cilantro. That combo didn’t just sit on top—it elevated the whole taco like it got promoted mid-meal. Creamy, fresh, herby… every bite felt balanced and intentional.

“This is Kahului's original location. It was completely rebuilt a few years ago. Not having them around for several months was torture! Nothing really beneficial was accomplished aside from looking prettier. The drive thru is still narrow and the dining room the same size.

I have favorites, like everyone else does. First and foremost, I'm ecstatic they brought back the Mexican Pizza.

If you're missing the MexiMelt, order the Cheesy Rollup and add ground beef & pico. It tastes 99% the same.
