The food is so good and you get nice size portions, for me they are actually huge because I don't eat much. The rolls are to die for and I personally love their salads. I like the small croutons they use, so much easier to eat. I actually think they would do much more business if they had their own stand a lone restaurant.”

I haven't traditionally been a huge fan of the drinks they gave us but the way they made them changed my mind and now I can never have them any other way. The old fashioned, espresso martini, and chocolate orange martini were so good. There was a gentleman selling plants and vinyls also who was super friendly and played great music.
Definitely my new favorite place. Very clean, wonderful cozy environment and the owner was a blast to be around.”

What set apart our experience tonight was how well the staff accommodated our family with small children. There were high chairs and coloring menus in place for the tykes before we reached the table. Our server, Ashton, was understanding of our fidgety, noisy crew, and made sure we had extra forks and crayons. When another chocolate milk was needed, he was prompt with it so none of the kids went without for long. This was not our first time having a positive experience as a family outing here and I saw several other families having a good time. Tonight's stuck out well enough to write about.”

I couldn't get a water refill at all. we waited for 15 minutes after eating and finally went to front Counter since Noone brought us a check. gal at front desk was pretty rude when I let her know i was not very happy with service but she didn't care, didn't even get I'm sorry for your experience or anything. last time I will eat at this location. also the seat coverings are ripped up and uncomfortable.”

The location was a bit odd at first but there's a couple of tables set up at the end of the lobby and the guy from the back came and turned in the fireplace for us! Service was top notch! Im going to call ahead for pick up next time but there will def be a next time!”

Why are all fries in Iowa these thin shoestring things? Steak fries are wonderful.
Anyway, the Ruben was very good, thick cuts of meat piled high, good crunch on the bread. It held up all the way through, wasn't soggy at all.
Decent price, for the two of us it was around $50 with tip included.
If you're looking for a NE sports bar every seat seems to be facing multiple large TV's.”

I'm attending a conference next week and need to bring a snack that represents where I live. Almost Famous is my go-to and popcorn is much easier to travel with than a case of Busch Light and Casey's pizza! There were no mini bags and no Crunch Berry on hand. The sweet gal working the counter helped me brainstorm alternatives, then suggested I talk to the owner who happened to be there. He said he has some at their production facility a few minutes away if I had time to follow him over there. He took time out of his weekend to help me out AND sent me with a few extra bags for my kids! I'm so thankful for the awesome small businesses and business owners in this community! “I was waiting for my car to be ready for pickup at a friend’s mechanic shop and I walked into SuYu Pei on 16th Ave SW for lunch at 1:15 today (Thursday) and was greeted immediately and told I could sit wherever I’d like. Not even 20 seconds later my waiter, Leo, showed up and told me about the lunch specials: For $10, you can choose from a large list of lunch items, each including an entree, side of rice, and a cheese Rangoon! He could tell I was stuck with all of the choices so he asked me what kinds of things I normally liked and recommended his favorite dish, so that’s what I chose. I ordered the Sichuan with chicken, but you can also order it with beef, shrimp or tofu. I’m not lying when I say the food came out, piping hot, in about three minutes. Anyone who knows me knows I love sauce. I didn’t have to get any extra sauce for this bad boy, it was sauuuuucy! 😍 The white rice was nice and sticky, the way it’s supposed to be, and the cheese Rangoon was crispy on the edges and soft and all the way filled in the middle. Leo was so knowledgeable about the menu and fun to talk to, not to mention quick at noticing and asking for refills or if I needed anything else. I even found out that we knew a lot of the same people and we talked and laughed about that fact for a few minutes. After he brought me a box for the rest of my food, I told him my car was getting worked on at a shop nearby so I might sit a while longer if that was ok, and he looked concerned and told me the area wasn’t super great for walking and asked me if I needed a ride back to the shop! Talk about customer service! I’m currently still sitting in the booth at SuYu Pei, but if I didn’t want to be, I could be in and out in 20 minutes easily. With the amazing customer service, super tasty food, and quick delivery times, If you’re looking for somewhere to stop on your lunch break, this is definitely the place!”

“Absolutely AMAZING servi ce last night! We had a group of 13 & they were OVER THE TOP accommodating to us. The fresh guacamole was THE BEST I have ever had! The wait staff was amazing and so prompt. Our waitress, Diana, was spot on with everything! She handled each of our orders with ease! The strawberry margaritas were HUGE!! Not to mention, extremely good! The delivery of them singing Happy Birthday to the Birthday girl was perfect! I cannot say enough good things, we will be back! Especially for the green tea shots!! “My husband and I ate here tonight for our birthdays. My husband got the cedar plant salmon with asparagus and corn risotto. I ordered the We Care Burger (proceeds go to Young Parent Network) with the risotto. Then we shared a skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream. Everything was beyond delicious! “big space! when i went it was completely empty, lots of seating options, tvs, and a bar area as well. ordered wings for app which were good and then a seafood boil with crab shrimp sausage egg potato and corn and cajun seasoning it was sooooo good! very flavorful everything seemed good quality and taste, took a bit to be ready but worth the wait! the only thing that was unfortunate was they said they didn’t have the shell breaking tools yet they had ordered them but they were still on the way so we had to use forks but made it work :,) overall great experience pricing was decent too, will be back again!”

“We love this place, Its a hidden gem in a stripe mall. You would never think such a good super nice, clean restaurant would be in there. We Live in Waterloo so this is our treat when we come to Cedar Rapids. The service here is always fantastic! The food is so good and you get nice size portions, for me they are actually huge because I don't eat much. The rolls are to die for and I personally love their salads. I like the small croutons they use, so much easier to eat. I actually think they would do much more business if they had their own stand a lone restaurant.”

“First time at Cheddar’s and I have to say, they did a fine job with the food.
I never expected a restaurant to serve complimentary croissants to customers. Those croissants were light and flaky, excellent quality overall. I didn’t expect the sweet glaze on them; I thought it was okay but felt the croissants would be better without them (I usually prefer my croissants savory).
My order of bourbon glazed salmon and shrimp was delicious. The salmon was cooked just right, flaky and tender, not dry at all. The shrimp were tasty too, nice and plump.
As for the sides, I enjoyed the red beans and rice. I thought the dish had a good amount of salt. The pork helped amplify the dish too. The broccoli cheese casserole was pretty good; not too cheesy and fairly tender broccoli. I just wish that dish was hotter. It felt a bit lukewarm.
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She did an excellent job helping us with our food.
Overall, I’ll definitely keep Cheddar’s on my list of restaurants to revisit. With food and customer service this good, they more than earned my respect.”
