“A cool place in Clinton. Needed a quick bite to eat after clinching US 30 across Iowa on a recent road trip, and I'm glad I stopped in. The food and drink were good, and the bartender Amanda was very friendly and pleasant. Judging from some of the previous visitors' photos, this looks to be quite the local haunt for many, and it's not hard to see why. Not necessarily the most appealing place from the outside, but aren't those always the best places to go once you're inside? Stop by Manning's Whistle Stop if your visiting Clinton.“

“I worked here back in the day and I'm happy the food is still the same. You can't go wrong with a burger and fries. Yum!
The service is usually slower but if I'm coming here I'm not trying to rush out. There is a pool table and a few arcade games.
Gravel parking lot with a decent hill. Can be tricky for motorcycles.

“We have a group, 5-8 of us who go for Taco Tuesday every week. Our server these days is Summer. When each member of our group arrives, she makes sure they get a drink, but then she ignores us for over an hour, until one of our group goes to the bar and tells her we want to order. She also let's our beer glasses get empty and sit there until we flag her down or finally get our food and can ask for another. With past servers. Some of us would have 3-5 beers before we pay and leave. With Summer, we barely get two beers because she does not come back and ask. Our group is now looking for another place to go. We have been coming to Slops for several years now and have never had such poor service. Owner/ Manager she is seriously losing you money. If she is doing it to us, she is serving others poorly too.“

“Excellent customer service displayed by Angie at the front registers yesterday! During the downpour late afternoon several customers were waiting to run to our cars until the storm subsided. Angie showed us to the drive up and offered to have someone load groceries for us. She also offered solutions to keep our frozen products cold until the rain let up. It’s excellent customer concern like Angie displayed that keeps me coming back to Hyvee.“
