“Sarah K. is truly one of a kind, and Starbucks is incredibly fortunate to have her as a manager at the Downtown Des Moines 10th & Locust location. Her customer service skills are unmatched - she handles every order with care and makes everyone feel valued and respected. Sarah consistently goes above and beyond for every single customer, setting the gold standard for what exceptional customer service should look like. She even personally delivers orders to customers throughout the store, which speaks volumes about her dedication. I would be remiss not to mention the rest of her team, who are nothing short of phenomenal. I truly cannot say enough great things about Sarah and her team! “I often grab a quick drink on my way to work in the afternoons --around 2:30ish in the drive thru -- and whoever usually works that shift is phenomenal. The barista is very courteous and professional, but not overtly friendly in a way that seems forced. I get my order with no surprises and with the expected quality. Even when I try something new or slightly modified from the menu, I'm never made to seem like a burden (which happens a lot in customer service these days). And really, it's the service that makes this location shine. Just great, reliable people running the show and delivering on-point Starbucks.“
“I've never left a google review but feel the need to after stopping into this specific location. All of the employee's were so kind and ready to help! It was super busy so the wait was longer than normal. My order was wrong, I ordered an iced and received a hot but I just don't think the lady that took my order heard me, which is okay! I still like my matcha hot as well.
I pointed it out to make sure it was mine, It had my name on it so clearly it was an honest mistake. Jack was so apologetic, he offered to make me a new one which I declined since I was already running late for work. The entire time he was making drinks he was communicating with everyone on wait times and if their drinks were next up, he was so friendly even through the morning rush and seeing his attitude was actually such a great way to start my own morning.
You have people who are kind just because they work customer service and then you have people who are genuinely kind and customer service comes so easy to them, you could tell Jack was one of those people.“
“Small Starbucks inside the store. Was actually surprised at how comfy it was with its big windows facing beautiful buildings. Since I get a mug or a cup at every state we wrestle in this was a great choice its literally by the center. Nice service and great people.“
“I’m not sure what’s going on with this location. We have gone to this location several times for the last 3 to 4 weeks and it’s hit or miss when they are open. The signs on the door say that they’re open the sign in the window says that they’re open but going up to the doors they’re locked and the drive-through is silent. My main question is how do we know when this location is open other than that, the drinks are fine. The food is fine. The location is fine and the staff is fine.
Sometimes they drive through speaker has an issue because of how close it is to the road, and I have to yell into the microphone for them to hear me“
“Went there with some of my grandchildren. They just love to go inside and talk to the employee and order their own drinks. This day one of my grandchildren spilt her dragon fruit drink and the nice gentleman made her a new one at no charge. The smile on her face was so amazing. Great customer service.“

While enjoying my latte, I started choking, and a quick-thinking barista went to action, performing the Heimlich maneuver and saving my life. “Usually pretty good service. Sometimes it takes a bit but it's usually during rush hour. Today, I ordered an iced pumpkin chai via the starbucks app. They were quick but the design they drew on my cup was really pretty. I know starbucks is making them do this. I particularly love it... “It's a very busy place often with long lines. to be fair to them I think they're having a difficult time keeping good experienced baristas which slows them down. it may be a symptom of the actual company or it could be just a difficulty in getting good baristas. I've been there a few times usually it's pretty simple when you just ask for a black dark roast if they have it, but sometimes I want to dry cappuccino and I had a difficulty trying to explain to someone what that actually meant. I will say after I did explain it to them they got it. Anyway if you go in there with reasonable expectations it's not an independently owned coffee shop and they're usually busy you should be okay.“
“I have to start by saying that in general, I am not a Starbucks fan. I go to Starbucks only in desperation when I run out of coffee at home or there are no other local options near me. That said, this location is the only reason I actually have an active Starbucks app. I've been going here regularly for about a year, and every staff member I've encountered has been prompt, sweet, and professional. My orders have always been accurate. I'll even risk the drive thru when I'm running late to work because I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes, even with a few cars ahead of me. Thank you to the SE 14th staff for making my experience so pleasant whenever I need a pick-me-up!“

“We have always had great service at this location nothing beats grabbing a coffee and doing some shopping at Target :-) The other day I was in need of my caffeine fix bad so I ordered the largest size cold brew coffee I could get But I grabbed it on my way out... Got to the car set my drink on my dashboard and when I shut the car door my entire drink fell on My lap and on the floor of my car :-( I went back in to get another coffee and the barista working, Nya, (so sorry I should have asked how to spell your name) was so sweet after I told her why I was back in so quickly, covered in coffee, she replaced my coffee for me free of charge. Starbucks coffee is a guilty pleasure of mine and one of the things I do to treat myself every so often. We know the coffee isn't cheap but dang is it worth it. Her act of kindness really went a long way for me that day. And she was nothing but sweet, quick and efficient when I was ordering the first time.The only thing that I do not like about Starbucks being inside of another business, is that they cannot accept tips, at least at Target...that needs to change. I love to tip for great service and we all know they aren't making neat what they deserve.“
“I'm in there every work day and have been since the late 1940's it feels like. Every single day I receive amazing service. They know you by name, and treat you amazingly well. I cannot say enough about Rhi, Maren, Sam, and the rest. It's the best way to start my day: caffeine and customer service.“
