Dubuque's best places for Mexican cuisine are in our list.
“As a good Mexican, I liked the food sold there, which is served generously, that is, without measure, and the price is adjustable to anyone's budget. I liked the atmosphere and even more so because of the people who kindly serve and of course they are Mexican. !! Thank you very much for being in a place so far from Mexico, in Iowa it was very happy for me and my friend to find Mexicans working in a Mexican restaurant.“
“Everything was fabulous! Fast and friendly service, fair prices, healthy portions and such flavorful food! We ordered a side of pico to dump in the salsa to add more veggie chunks and it was even that much better! This will be our new go to.“
“I've been coming here ever since it opened over 25 years ago when they used to use the whole restaurant. Service has never been stellar and they are really struggling now for help thanks to Brandon but they still put out great food and the atomic salsa is still the best especially mixed into the queso. Great daily specials like 4 dollar big mugs of Dos Equis amber“
“In the last month I have dined in the restaurant three times for lunch and have enjoyed the food and service very much. The salsa is hot but the chips seemed over cooked. The first 2 times the food service was fast. The 3rd time the food service took a bit longer but it was still reasonable it seemed as though they were short staffed. The burritos were delicious every time. I like the cheese sauce poured over them rather than the enchilada sauce.“
“My husband and I both really like the burritos here. I'm vegetarian, and there is a meatless option for me. The topping selections aren't as numerous as Qdoba which we really really love, but this comes in a very nice second place (I wish they had a whole week tortilla and a brown rice selection).Vegetarian options: There is a meatless protein option available for vegetarian. I was told both the black beans and the pinto beans were meat and lard free. The menu could be improved for vegetarians if they clearly labeled the items that are meat and lard free because from what I have noted over the years, Mexican style restaurants can include lard in beans (most often pinto beans) and I'd personally like it to be clearly labeled on a menu.Parking: There's plenty of free parking around the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: This is a kid friendly, casual restaurant“
“Sebastian is the BEST server in the location on the NW Arterial. He’s been there quite a while. He’s very friendly and is always cheerful. They are always fast aboutserving your food and drinks. The majority of the staff is excellent and very hard working. The food is delicious and consistent. The parking lot is huge and accessibility is easy“
“As a Mexican grocery store taco enthusiast, I don’t say this in jest, these are the best tacos I’ve ever had. I had (2) of the pastor and (1) of the lengua. Mhmmmmm! Both were cooked to perfection with a flavor that I’ll tell in detail to my across the hall neighbor in a nursing home someday. They wrap up each taco like a newborn baby leaving the hospital for the very first time. It’s an art of beauty you need to experience for yourself. Lastly, both salsas (green and red) hit all the right spots. I can’t say enough good words. Well done, El Paisano!“
