“What great space with great people! We stopped by after the Reindeer Rambler 5k. It was so cute, cozy, and festive! The bartenders were so sweet, and the vibe is it! It was a beautiful day outside for December and we got to sit outside by the fire pit. The outside is just an inviting as the inside. 10/10 will be back“

“Open jam Wednesday nights. It's a fun place to unwind or wind up. Whether you're just stopping in for a drink or night cap, or to let loose and socialize this place is highly recommended by me and plenty of my friends/acquaintances. Stop by any day or night of the week to check out the bar, video gaming machines (maybe you will get lucky), and enjoy the patio. Patio has plenty of seating and standing room, and some fire pits to warm up next to if you get chilly. The patio fire pits also provide a little more ambiance to the outdoor vibe... If you show up on a Wednesday night you will be guaranteed (by yours truly) to see and hear a decent live performance by some local up and coming artists, and some locals who just love playing live music in front of a great audience. Stop by and show your support“

Management works hard to keep both their staff and their patrons safe and comfortable. They’ll even hook you up with a pup cup for your pupperino.“

“Haven't been down there in many years but tbh I never personally thought it was a bad bar from what I've noticed. The west end can sometimes have some real clowns hanging out in those bars down there but I never really did see this at the nickel at least when I was down there.“

Went last night to celebrate a birthday and I spent more time waiting for my beer than being able to sit down and enjoy my time. 10+ minute wait for a beer with only 5 People around the bar is pretty ridiculous. “It was karaoke night. The place was hopping. Bartenders were busy. We had an amazing time. Service was great and everyone was friendly. I accidentally left my credit card behind when we left. With one quick phone call, they returned my credit card via USPS in just a couple of days. If I'm ever in the area again, we'd love to stop by again.“

“We were in from out of town for a concert on 6/11 and wanted to go have a few drinks at a smaller bar so I typed in dive bars and this little place popped up so we gave it a try. This place did not disappoint! We were introduced to horse betting from the locals, (thanks Beau) and had a good bartender (thanks Josh) and all around a great time. Good laughs, cold beer, won some $ and had a few shots! Everyone one was very friendly and we will def be back to visit again!“

“It's nice to have MLK day off from work - three-day weekends are great from school, and their just as good in adult life. After a day spent largely across the river in Rock Island and East Moline, I took a rest at home. I needed a night cap and some dinner however. What better way to accomplish both of those things than a quick trip out to a nearby bar?I have no other reason to traverse Central Avenue in Bettendorf. I live within a 5 minute drive of Central Ave Tap, but I don't need to visit Neil Armstrong Elementary, nor is there anything else along the road for me to visit currently. I've driven by before on my way to visit friends that live in the area, just never stopped in here ever for a drink or food. Well, that changes tonight - I needed a gin and tonic and a burger before bed!There's not too much to say about Central Ave Tap. Its a bar in the bottom half of a building all to itself. There're two pool tables, a few dart boards, and a long bar that runs the whole length of the space. Newish wood laminate floor covers most of the inside, as does the newer looking drop ceiling. There's a TouchTunes jukebox along the wall - one of the new variety that lets anyone with the corresponding phone app play anything they like with the touch of a button from their phone. Suffice to say, the space is well maintained and clean.I settled at the bar on my visit and got my gin and tonic to start. They only had well gin - Fleischmann's I think? - it was fine, made a good G&T. After a quick perusal of the menu, I settled on a burger and fries, both of which I got to watch the bartender prepare right from my seat at the bar. This was a new experience for me - the stove and, really, the entire kitchen area are right there, unsegregated from the rest of the space, to watch as you please. It was actually kind of neat, plus the food came out super fresh.I enjoyed both the burger and fries. The burger was a simple pre-formed frozen patty, but it tasted fresh all the same. The fries were crinkle cut, fried to crispy perfection. The total portion size was exactly what I needed for the evening - not too much, not too little.Given a similar urge, I'd come back here for another burger. It felt kind of weird just randomly coming here. The space had the distinct feeling of being a local pup, a sort of common space for mostly those that lived close by. I hope I didn't intrude much. “The food is so delightful and creative. I don't think J Bar gets enough attention as one of the best QC restaurants. Perhaps because it is connected to a hotel, it gets overlooked.
I had shrimp and grits which was every bit as good as that I have had in the south. My friend had the chicken thigh entree which he said was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Cocktail are wonderful.“

“My husband and I live little over an hour away. We enjoy coming to the quad cities often. We by chance decided to try out Monarch Kitchen + Bar based off of their rating. All I can say is I am so impressed. Impressed with the care and quality of food. The wait staff are amazing. I am a person who doesn’t use seed oils at home. To know I can go out and eat somewhere and know the ingredients are fresh and good for you means everything. We stayed two days and ate there for lunch and came back the next day for dinner. We loved the lo mein and the garlic aioli fries, but honestly everything we tried was amazing. It is now our new favorite restaurant in the quad cities. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends. Thank you for making our trip even more special!“

“Burgers were actually *really good*... I went back for more. The frozen drinks are perfect for the hot summer. Good DJ, responsive to the crowd and playing music that keeps it fun.

The place is clean, spacious, comfortably lit. You could have fun coming here alone, or with a big group.

Tina and Eva (I believe) took such great care of me, the drinks prices were more than reasonable and the regulars made me feel right at home!
