“Came in after a school basketball game to eat and had 2 little kids with us. Staff was extremely friendly and food came out very quick even though they were busy. “If you haven’t been to Homeport yet, you’re missing out! I stopped in on a Sunday and was blown away by their quesadilla—it was packed with seasoned chicken, black olives, green pepper, onion, jalapeño, and just the right amount of cheese. At $12, it’s a great deal, and even better, they offer $2 off every appetizer on Sundays!
The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, filled with people just enjoying their Sunday. The bartender was incredibly sweet and attentive—great service all around.
Highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!“

“They were very accommodating of my very picky daughter. She got some pancakes and they were not what she was expecting in her 6 year old little mind. They brought her some plain pancakes. The buffet they have is amazing prime rib and so many options and a very reasonable price. The waiter checked on us very often as well. Great food and great service!“

“We were going to a concert Sunday night and found Cliffs as we were walking down the street . We got our food quickly, the sandwiches were delicious as well as the broccoli cheese soup 😁 will definitely be back 😁“

“*Very* local-focused spot. The food was good but the wait was a bit long. The bartenders were nice, and the locals friendly enough although the open karaoke made it not the most strangers-friendly night.
Make sure to note, it's a cash only bar!“
“Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They have great karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 9pm. Drinks are reasonably priced and is a feel good down home atmosphere! Wonderful place to relax plus watch the game too!“
“The BEST tenderloin I've ever had is served here. Good price on food items and drinks. Good service. Pool table is usually free to use, and they have fun events like painting classes or a dj sometimes. Small bar with a good vibe - definitely recommend!“

“So fun! Pretty laid back during the week, then gets busy at the weekend. The owner Kurt, is a long-time bar owner (since '82 I believe), is a very personable guy who knows his industry! He can give tons of historical info on establishments in Cedar Rapids downtown area.“

“Good service... The atmosphere or vibes in there feels a bit ghetto, but I personally dig a more low-key casually dressed place after work on a Friday night. And, obviously, if you like to play pool, this is your spot. They've got several pool tables. Fried bar food will run you roughly $9 regular price before tax. A double shot of Jose Blanco cigar me $6 I believe and a shot of Patron runs $10. I think my margarita cost about $5 or $6 as well. The two lady bartenders were easy to conversate with.. not over the top hyper or snooty. They handled that bar crowd Friday night with ease - just cool, calm, and collected ..no sweat! Pretty good bar tenders, those two knew their stuff & were attentive for the most part. So I personally like their service and staff members are clearly trained well. I prefer the dark sweat your tail off grinding with hot guys all night or a group of your gal pals sort of bar scene, but that's probably because I would choose dressed up over casual and I don't play pool. 🫶“

“Was mildly busy…stopped by after work and sat in the bar area. Bianca was our server/bartender and an absolute joy. she was attentive, energetic and professional. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had lunch and a couple of the Casamigos Margaritas and everything was ideal, from service to drinks and food. Will definitely be back!“

“Great venue for bands. Drink prices are reasonable, and the staff were awesome (friendly and accommodating). A welcoming environment for everyone. They hosted a great show for Mercury's Crown & Big Hair Mafia, who both rocked the house. Would definitely come back to see more shows here.“

“This place is a hidden gem! The building is about 150 years old, but the inside is updated and clean. The menu said that the building once housed a saloon and hotel. I had a turkey Reuben and fries that were tasty and reasonably priced. They were selling a lot of pizzas that looked good- maybe next time. I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. We watched a football game while we ate. I would feel comfortable bringing kids here with me.“
