“Came in after a school basketball game to eat and had 2 little kids with us. Staff was extremely friendly and food came out very quick even though they were busy. We were checked on in a timely manner to make sure we were ok and had full drinks. We will definitely be going back when we are in the area.“

“We were going to a concert Sunday night and found Cliffs as we were walking down the street . We got our food quickly, the sandwiches were delicious as well as the broccoli cheese soup 😁 will definitely be back 😁“

“*Very* local-focused spot. The food was good but the wait was a bit long. The bartenders were nice, and the locals friendly enough although the open karaoke made it not the most strangers-friendly night.

“I Have been ordering from here for a few years and not only do they have the best chicken tenders in town, they offer an AMAZING hot sauce that I typically order extra of and use it on all the things. it's absolutely amazing.“
“Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They have great karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 9pm. Drinks are reasonably priced and is a feel good down home atmosphere! Wonderful place to relax plus watch the game too!“

“If you haven’t been to Homeport yet, you’re missing out! I stopped in on a Sunday and was blown away by their quesadilla—it was packed with seasoned chicken, black olives, green pepper, onion, jalapeño, and just the right amount of cheese. At $12, it’s a great deal, and even better, they offer $2 off every appetizer on Sundays!
The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, filled with people just enjoying their Sunday. The bartender was incredibly sweet and attentive—great service all around.

“Loved this place but it has gone down hill. Service was horrible. Food cold. 3 people standing at hostress stand, 1 being the manager. I went up and asked for some ketchup that we had been waiting for about 15 minutes. 3 out of 7 in our party had finished their meals. The manager was nasty to me stating "We are Busy" He did get it but by then the sandwhich wasn't good.“
“I really like this place. Of course it has a pinball but everything else was wonderful too. I like the horseshoe bar. Very clean and friendly customers. Stop by and see for yourself self, who knows what type of conversation you will fall into.“
“My first visit to the corner pocket was on Saturday afternoon. It was relatively quiet. Only a few tables were taken. It was nice to have a place to shoot a few games of pool that's not too loud and obnoxious. We had a problem with a couple of the tables but the bar staff was very accommodating. The drinks were good. I would call this a friendly atmosphere. They have regular pool leagues, both men and women. They have 10 or 11 tables so you shouldn't have trouble finding a spot unless it's a league night.“
“So fun! Pretty laid back during the week, then gets busy at the weekend. The owner Kurt, is a long-time bar owner (since '82 I believe), is a very personable guy who knows his industry! He can give tons of historical info on establishments in Cedar Rapids downtown area.“

“Great spot down by the Cedar River. I am a big fan of Czech Pilsners and insisted we make time for a lunch and a beer there. What a great time; chatted it up with the locals and the bartender on an early Friday afternoon. I ordered the goulash and dumplings and my darling ordered a pork tenderloin. Both were great but hers was exceptional. Solid selection of Czech beers, Czechvar being my favorite. Reasonable tab for food and drinks and a nice friendly visit with locals to boot in an authentic old-school tavern. If you visit be sure to have them point out how high the flood waters got in the 2008 downpours.“

“Great venue for bands. Drink prices are reasonable, and the staff were awesome (friendly and accommodating). A welcoming environment for everyone. They hosted a great show for Mercury's Crown & Big Hair Mafia, who both rocked the house. Would definitely come back to see more shows here.“
