“Emma was a gem! Other employees were pleasant but more interested in chatting among themselves. When we arrived around 6ish it was obvious they had been 'slammed'. Every table was a disaster of leftovers! It looked as though every slob in town had left their mark. We asked if someone might clear and clean a table that was somewhat clean. 'Emma' said 'sure'... and she did! Between the time we arrived, ordered, and ate, not one employee made any effort to 'buss' any table. We ate, surrounded by garbage. Finally, Emma arrived and dutifully cleaned up every table to include the debri under and around each table! We were impressed with her diligence, congratulated and tipped her. Was the pizza and salad good? As usual, 'Yes'. Will we return? Absolutely! (Owners might want to explain 'bussing' etiquette to their youthful employees.)“
“Whiteys ice cream is my favorite ice cream on the planet. It's a old fashion shop that mix is it to order and you can order some of the most exciting ice cream dishes and classic dishes in the world. Their shakes their malts there's Sundays there banana splits and every type of ice cream exit Kari has never disappointed me and the service is out of this world. Perfect by young kids that are making it happen. Tip them well and I'll take care of you Five star recommended.“
“Love this place! Best ice cream around. I was raised on DQ and when we moved here our realtor said it was a must try and OMGOSH so glad we did. I couldn't tell you the last time we has DQ. WHITEYS all the wayParking: It's about drive thru, people need to circle around building to get in line. There are arrows...“
“Whitey's is my first stop when I return to the Quad Cities from Dallas. TX. It has been my go to spot for excellent malts since my high school days!!!Parking: A lot of people use the drive through so there where quite a few spaces available.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramps. Ample space in the store to maneuver.“
“I really wanted some Ice Cream after dinner on the way home from work. I initially tried to go to Cones on the Corner, which indicated they were open (but they weren't much to my disappointment). I was almost crushed, but found that La Canasta Bakery & La Michoacana Ice Cream was only a three minute drive away in Silvis. Excitedly, I headed over to get my post dinner sweet treat.I don't think I'd driven to Silvis for anything in my life prior to this. The area around 1st Avenue is delightful - lots of little shops lining either side of the road, including this Bakery and Ice Cream shop. I really need to come back to visit again, perhaps for Frank's Pizza or Mr. Panda. The interior of La Michoacana Ice Cream was as delightful as the exterior. The furnishings are what you'd expect in a modern shop selling about anything - The floors were a new wood laminate of somewhat faded appearance, the ceiling area consisted of a drop ceiling with 2x4 foot tiles and florescent fixtures, and new displays behind the ice cream counter listed off all the products and associated prices. The mascot of sorts for the store and associated decoration was a sort of hispanic little girl chibi person - hadn't seen this before, but it was neat.I opted for two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. The bottom scoop ended up being a sort of cookie ice cream (not the typical cookies and cream) and for the top scoop I opted for mango ice cream. Both were pretty good - probably not worth driving all the way to Silvis solely to procure again, but if I were eating in the area I'd stop by again. It's a nice store with some solid ice cream. It definitely satiated my sweet tooth after dinner tonight. If I'm in Silvis again, I'd consider stopping by again. Thanks, La Michoacana!“
“I know it's not Dairy Queen's fault, but it is so frustrating that they don't have the thin mint blizzard. I've only been able to find it once. ? Anyway. The cashier was wonderful and the oreo blizzard hits the spot when it's 90+ degrees out.“
“We like to food at Culver's, but what really stood out during this visit was the crew. A young man was getting ready to walk the floor looking to clean up and ran to get the door for an elderly couple. A young lady was very kind to us and gave us free custard! We'll be back.“
“Wonderful atmosphere and yogurt! It was bustling with customers when we stopped in, yet the employees greeted us and were kind and helpful. It was extremely clean, and I saw an employee wiping down games and tables each time a group left. Great place to have a sweet treat and play a game or two!“
“I was originally a Whitey's ICE Cream fan when I moved to the cities in 1990, but my wife turned me on to Country Style. The soft serve reminds me so much of homemade churned ice cream, with a firm texture and a BUNCH of creamy flavor. To enjoy your shake or malt (both are fantastic), save your straw because you'll need a spoon!“
