First time visitor last night. A friend and I went to The Freeze after dinner. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, but that quickly changed until there were cars lined up on the street coming from both directions, waiting to get into the small parking lot. I don’t know how long it’s been around, but it feels like an institution. I would guess that it is family owned and operated, because that’s the way it felt. These folks sell happiness by the cone. Favorite place for a cool treat in the summer months
Very generous portion sizes! A small is plenty for almost everyone. Good ice cream and prompt service. Highly recommend.

The Freeze is a popular local restaurant that has been delighting customers for years. The staff and owner are friendly and provide excellent service. The menu offers a variety of delicious meals, with generous serving sizes. The cones are a standout item, known for their unique preparation, and the ice cream is often enjoyed in large, HUGE cones such as twist, vanilla, or chocolate. Many visitors consider it the best ice cream parlor in the area, with so much variety and all at good prices. The environment is clean and neat, with attractive tables and benches. The establishment is a local landmark and a tradition for many families. The Blast cones are the best and the flavors to choose from are out of this world. When visiting, it’s recommended to use the left turn lane if the drive-through queue is full, especially when coming from the north on 11th St., toward Menards, to avoid holding up traffic. The drive-thru access can be tricky, but following this advice helps ensure a smooth experience.
