“I stopped in for an impromptu visit to the lake. I was greeted by a man who a young man called grandpa. They had to find grandma so we could find out if they had room. The whole time I'm standing here I can't wait to pay for a room here. I'm feeling all nostalgic, the foods smelling great. the place is clean you can tell from the lobby. Grandma is located and I check in. I felt at home the minute we walked in the lobby but the room was even cozier. if you're looking for fancy this ain't the place, but if your looking for a homey clean place to stay. it's the one! we will be back C&D Thank you for all your hospitality!”

“When people say the word "dive bar" I always imagine Fat Annie's as the pinnacle of this term, from it's very unassuming exterior to it's somewhat pleasant interior this is In fact the most "dive bar" experience I have ever had.”

“We stopped in Friday, July 14th with a group of 12 and no reservations. They were fantastic about accommodating our group!! The restaurant was packed!!! Jessica was our waitress and did an AMAZING job!! Drinks were great (Shark Attack the best) and food was delicious too!! Highly recommend this restaurant!! “WHAT 4.8.....NOT A FIVE! Clean, staff was friendly, service top knotch and the food? Excellent, the margaritas were tasty with lemon-lime and not burnt. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was THICK and not running. The food was hot, with a nice red sauce over the enchiladas, good spanish rice, and refried beans. Portions were on the large side. Albia, Iowa, you're lucky to have a 5 star restaurant.”

“Tucked away in Albia is a restaurant that is President Barrack Obama approved as they are famous for their Iowa pork tenderloin sandwiches. What's that you say? Picture a buttered hamburger bun sandwiched by a giant plate sized fried pork tenderloin. The fried tenderloin is soo juicy and crunchy, unlike anything you've had before, and a nice tang from the mustard. President Obama came here in 2018 and the photo is proudly featured on their wall, but the real reason they're famous and have been for decades is their authentic Iowan classics like the pork tenderloin sandwiches and loose meat sandwiches. Also, don't forget their tots and fries with cheese, as they are always fried to perfection. Just like Iowa.”

“We stopped into Murphs while visiting town for the week and it was the right choice. Small Town "dive bar" with amazing people. We loved it enough we came back every night. Good prices on drinks, cheap pool, and good conversations. I'll come out of my way to visit Murph's again.”
