“I have eaten an unreasonable amount of Subway in my lifetime. I’m basically a self-appointed Subway sandwich critic. And let me tell you, this location? Elite. Out of all the Subway sandwiches I’ve had in my life (and trust me, there have been MANY), this location is hands down the best. The bread is always so fresh and soft, they put the perfect ratio of topping on every time. And as if it couldn't get any better the staff are some of the most friendly people you will meet. Most of the time they remember my entire sandwich order and it's evident that the staff truly care about the important art of the Subway sandwich as much as i do. 8th wonder of the world is the Merle Hay Johnston subway.“

“I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by Tim at the Subway in Ankeny today. He was working all by himself and still managed to serve everyone with such grace and ease even though his help arrived pretty late. Despite the rush, Tim kept a positive attitude, made great conversation, and was genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve come across in customer service.

I sat down and ate while watching him work, and he never once seemed stressed or overwhelmed. He was polite, efficient, and kept everything running smoothly without missing a beat. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and he’s just the kindest person. Tim truly went above and beyond, and he absolutely deserves a raise and some serious recognition!

“I came in after the lunch hour to a clean dining room. The young lady that helped me, greeted me promptly. She was was very friendly and efficient and I felt welcomed, even though I came in between meal periods.

“Newer, nice and clean store across from Ankeny Centennial high school. Stopped in to feed everyone after a choir concert. No problems along with good sandwiches makes for a pleasant experience. Would say it's worth a shot for a quick and good meal .“

“We come to this Subway often because they actually know how to make a veggie sandwich. At a lot of other locations, if you don't get meat, they barely put any toppings on it and you end up with a flat sandwich. This location is different—they actually make a filling veggie sub, which is hard to find!
It’s great to find a spot that doesn't skimp on the ingredients. Also, this is one of the only Subways around that consistently accepts the good coupons, so the value is excellent. If you want a sandwich that’s actually worth the price, this is the best location to hit.“

“Shout out to the Manager at the Panera Bread, north Ankeny. I ordered lunch for both my husband and myself off the kiosk. When we were alerted to pick it up, they just had my husband’s order at the kitchen counter. I asked if my soup was ready and they didn’t have it on the order. The kitchen just dished up a bowl and gave it to me along with the drink I thought I had ordered. I returned to the main counter and explained that I owed them for a bowl of soup and drink. The manager at the register said, “not today, it’s your lucky day”. I will be returning to this location for the kindness both the kitchen staff and manager displayed. Thank you!“
