“In our group, people varied on their opinions of the food from good to excellent. Chips were tasty. Salsa was good. Queso was good but not special. I considered the shredded chicken in the tacos to be very good. One person was into the chili relleno but not the beef enchilada. Pollo loco was the most enjoyed meal of the group. Portions are large. The service was on top of it.“

“Delicious! We visited this restaurant after our gymnastics tournament today, we had a party of 10, the got us in quickly. Service was great, food came out quickly AND they gave all of the kids a scoop of ice cream. They had a little topping bar for the ice cream cups with gummy worms, chocolate chips, m&m and all kinds of sauces. So awesome!

I got the steak tacos and they were wonderful. Loved the spicy sauce that came with it and the beans! I also loved that they brought out a little side of beans to dip our chips on along with salsa. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“The food at this location is exactly what I expect of Long John Silver's. Food was served hot and crisp. Not overly greasy or salty. The fish was so wonderfully flaky and those shrimp were cooked just right, easy to bite, no chewiness. The parking lot here is atrocious and in desperate need of redoing. Really the only reason I am so reluctant to visit this location is because the wait is always extraordinarily long. Even as the third person in line I spent twenty minutes waiting for my meal. Yet the drive thru line circles the parking lot almost every time I am here.“

Simply outstanding and is our favorite restaurant when we're in Des Moines area.“

“My husband and I have eaten at Aura at least 5 times. We've also hosted group dinners there. The food is FANTASTIC, and the mussels are absolutely delicious. And I'm from the NW, I know delicious mussels! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving it a 5 STAR review is that the music is too loud, and it's monotonous. Please, serve quiet, enjoyable music to go along with your wonderful food.“

“The food was delicious, hot in temperature like it should, had a little miscommunication in the beginning with my order but was fixed no harm done. As picky as I am eating in new restaurants I was impressed very much with my meal and appearance of my plate. The ingredients on the side salad looked very fresh not like left over salad ingredients from previous days,as picky of a person that I am my hats off to them. I gave 4 stars cause music was a little loud giving the atmosphere more of a bar and not a restaurant in my opinion nevertheless I will be going back thanks....“

“Everything was phenomenal from beginning to end! The waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing, and our waiter in particular was so friendly and recommended the crab stuffed walleye, which was to die for! The environment was classy and intimate, yet casual enough that it felt comfortable and warm. The best part of the meal was the appetizer- the seared ahi tuna is too good for words, just trust me on this and order it! This was a great place to visit for my birthday dinner, and we definitely plan on being back.“

“Food is always delicious! I went in after work on Mother’s Day to take home 3 orders of shrimp fajitas and the patio and tables inside were packed. Despite staff being very busy, I still got my order in 15 min and one of the teens working at the register checked on me while I waited to see if I needed anything. I’ve always had excellent service. Also I've never been grossed out by the bathroom. That's a big bonus for me. After using the restroom I like coming out feeling relieved and clean not ready to shower as soon as I get home...cause eewwwww.... But today 7-11-2025, we showed up at 9:10pm and were excused out the door because the front greeter stated to us that they stopped dinning at 9pm. The waitress in-front of him looked like she felt bad and was wanting to sit us down, but the male greeter gave her a grin. The Hours for this place is 11am-10pm. What a way to loose business right at your door! Very disappointed with this !“

“Currently, this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Iowa. They have the tastiest shrimp cocktail and my favorite are the shrimp empanadas from the appetizer section of the menu. My husband loves virtually anything they serve. I can overlook that it isn't fancy and sometimes the service is a little uncoordinated when you end up with such amazing food. I see the people in the kitchen looking like they are working so hard and from the heart. Now, if you want a good laugh, I ate here ten years ago for my first time and it took me nine years before I ever would consider returning. I ordered paella with the extra $1 charge if I wanted the seafood all out of the shell instead of me doing it myself. I was eating away while in deep conversation with my family, enjoying my food, when I bit down on some random large piece of a broken shell buried in the paella. I got up and ran to the bathroom and had to spit out the shells and unfortunately parts of six of my broken teeth! So, if you order any dish with the promise of the seafood all taken from its shell; still be careful!“

My last order for to go was paid for with a gift card from corporate on Dec 7th, and yet another (premium) side was missing, and the rice had a hair in it (Definitely not one of ours). Eat in experience may be different, but to go is horrible.“
