“I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon and got a 2 scoop cup of coffee heath. The girls behind the counter were very nice and gave me a sample no problem when I asked. The 2 scoops were just over $7. The place was cute, had a decent amount of seating but very cool that they had small child seating as well. The ice cream was good, not overly heavy on the coffee flavoring. The heath was good though I personally wished there was a bit more as I did have quite a few bites without any real heath in it. It seemed pretty busy for a chilly and windy day but no one really waited in line for service. I would say check it if you are in the area. It's good ice cream with nice friendly staff.”
“Kue’d Smokehouse is the best food in Waukee hands down. Not to mention fast and friendly service every single time. Which is impressive, as I’ve been there dozens of times now. Great place, can’t recommend enough.”
“The person working the register was incredibly friendly and helpful. They had a lot of options, and the 2 fruit teas that I tried were really good. For the price, I wish they had larger sizes, though.”
“The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. HOWEVER, our server was EXCEPTIONAL. In most cases, wait staff will make or break an experience for fine dining. Charismatic, friendly, and helpful was what we got tonight. We don’t make it out to the Waukee area often but I’m so glad we did tonight! Thank you Lauren for a special night out.You went above and beyond to make our experience one that we absolutely couldn’t forget. :)”
“Came here on Saint Patrick's Day for the green beer. We also tried the Green Caramel Apple cider. It was very sweet and delicious. It was fairly busy but no wait. The food options were amazing. Not limited to typical bar food. We had a Reuben, Kimchi flat bread, and brussel sprouts. It was so much food, but so good we couldn't stop eating.”
“I recently visited this ice cream shop and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The variety of flavors they offer is impressive, catering to every taste bud imaginable.I tried their cherry dole whip and the chocolate malt and they were absolutely divine – rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor! The quality of their ice cream is top-notch, and you can tell that they use only the finest ingredients. Not only is the ice cream delicious, but the ambiance of the shop itself is charming and inviting. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a sweet treat with family. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure that every customer leaves with a smile on their face.Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a delightful ice cream experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit for ice cream lovers!”
“Best NY Pizza in the Midwest. I grew up in NY where freedom as a kid meant having $1 and being old enough to walk to the corner pizzaria on your own - or having $2 so you could bribe an older sibling to go with you if you weren't old enough to go alone. Plenty of places call themselves NY pizza, but don't come close. The pizza and pasta at TONY is authentic NY. The garlic knots and zepoles are perfect. It's our first stop whenever we're in Des Moines.”
“Ninja Ramen Sushi is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience delicious Japanese cuisine in Waukee plus served with a side of hospitality. The owners, who are truly amazing people, go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and appreciated. Food are delicious!”
“Love the selection of fresh made energy drinks available. They have so many flavors and a unique mix of flavors like green apple and white chocolate. In addition there are different coffees, latte's and smoothies. The service is great in this drive thru place! A sixteen ounce energy drink is about $4.50.”
“great coffee shop! coffee is great and ambient too. it is a little loud if you are trying to telework and need to jump on a call, but nothing major I suppose it’s the big ceilings! either way, i love this coffee shop for a slower day at work or just to hangout. Their milk alternatives are great and espresso isn’t too bold. totally recommend”
“Fun dive bar deep into Waukee. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays, a few TVs to catch a game, darts, pool and cheap drinks. It gets really busy but the staff does a great job trying to keep the drinks flowing! They do fun events like psychics, bingo and other things every once and awhile as well. Highly recommend.”
“I went twice in the last month because I absolutely adore the location, the atmosphere and the wine.My favorite (by far) is the rattlesnake, which absolutely surprised me the first time I tried it. If you prefer the whites, my personal suggestion is the Cedar Bridge. The charcuterie board (20 dollars) is full of cheese (4 types), prosciutto crudo, coppa, salami, almonds and dried cherries. Definitely a plate to share: delicious and huge. They also sell high quality chocolates (Stam) to match with your wine.If you're around in the area, maybe visiting the Madison County bridges, you HAVE to stop here, even just to relax, enjoy the scenery and have a chat with the lovely staff.”
“The burgers are great! For the price point, especially on Tuesdays, it's the best burgers in the metro. I'm not a fan of the fries, but the chips are rather good.Service has been great for each visit. The atmosphere is good overall, but it gets crowded fast at times and could use a slightly bigger location (this applies on weekend evenings and not during lunch times).”
“We came here for some sushi and ramen. The food was spot on and we loved the sushi. The presentation and taste were spot on. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. It's a beautiful restaurant. Nice and bright and relaxing.”
“We are never out it Waukee but we definitely have a reason now to come out more often! If you love a good street taco, this is the place for you. We are a family of 5 and my kids all were saying this was the “best restaurant ever”!Food:I got 4 street tacosCarne Asada - by far my favorite. So juicy and tender.Chorizo - this was awesome and had a little kick to itBirra - wow! I absolutely loved the flavor and the added cheeseCarnitas - this was good but with the other being better, I wouldn’t get this one againMy kids got the kids meal with taco and rice. There wasn’t much left when they were done.My husband got the carne asada taco bowl and devoured the whole thing. That you can choose what toppings you want with it instead of it being a one item fits all.We also decided to get the three dips appetizer (salsa, guacamole and queso). The queso was incredibly good! The guacamole was very fresh but had a little too much lime flavor. I still ate all of it. The salsa was also fresh and served well as a topping rather than a stand alone with chips. I loved that the chips were fresh, crunchy and not too salty. The other side we got was the street corn and this was probably my favorite thing I ate. Creamy, cheesy, a little kick. Absolutely yes.I would highly recommend getting some aqua fresca with your meal as well. Wow! I got the pineapple and would go back just for that.We ended the meal with some churros. They are filled with what I believe to be dulche de leche and I wish I could eat these every day.So glad we decided to stop here for lunch! We ended up spending over $90 (much more than typical for us with a lunch meal) but the food was worth it.Parking: Lots of available spots and easy enough to get to.Kid-friendliness: They don’t have a lot of options but my kids loved the tacos and already want to go back!”
“Edit: Since the change in location I had to update my review to 5 stars. Great place to go, love the new atmosphere!Love this place! Food is great and servers are amazing! The ONLY reason it's a 4 with me is because it can get pretty loud in there due to the tile floors and nothing to soak up the sound. I'd suggest maybe some sound panels for the walls :)”
“I love this little boba shop. Great service and they make a great croffle. They’ve started to offer poke bowls which I haven’t tried yet but they look great. We tried the Swiss roll this time, which a nice light treat to satisfy a sweet tooth.”
“We had such a great time at Blue Shark! Our server Amy did an excellent job. She was so friendly and attentive. We truly enjoyed our time sampling the local beers and the Buffalo Mac and Cheese was . Highly recommend!”
“Very good breakfast! Good biscuits and gravy which is hard to come by lately. Came out nice and hot! We will be back again. Only thing is the hash browns could have been cooked a little longer to get the brown crisp, either way they were good!”
“Amazing taco salad on taco Tuesday.... it was so big it didn't fit in the to-go box! It tasted great! Highly recommend! Came with plenty of sour cream and salsa.”
“Delicious and fresh... even my little buddy liked their "burrito," which was a chicken schawarma Gyro!!The ginger lemonade was a little too spicy for him but I loved it!I had the bowl, and my husband had a platter... yummy!”
“Very good and very quick. Need to wrap the hard shells tacos in paper instead of using the aluminum containers though. It would be cheaper for the company as well and keep the taco shells from getting soggy in 5 mins. Not sure why they don’t do that.”
“Great place off the beaten path. Enjoyed my food. Excellent staff. Kiff and Jessie were so helpful when I spilled my coffee. grateful for their kindness and efficiency.”
“One of my most favorite places; my happy place.Small family owned and ran; very nice people. The food is always fresh, hot and deliceous. I have had everything on the menu and you can't go wrong. Reason we go few times a month (doesn't hurt they ate just arround the corner from our house either lol)”
“Very clean and modern atmosphere. The owners are really nice and friendly. Coffee is smooth. Pastries are freshly made and sealed in the glass jar to keep fresh. The peanut butter cookies were even warm when I got them in the noon. You can tell the owners are really hard working and taking care of the business properly.”
“I love it when we get to choose the type of meat ( I picked Ribeye ) and appetizers like mushrooms, onions, green peppers, shrimp in cast iron - small skillets. Then you go to the bid brick charcoal grill. That is where you cook your own food, plenty of Texas Bread to butter up and grill. That's when it you can get baked beans, baked potatoes, fried potatoes, at the warming table.Great food , give it a try!”
“We stopped in the evening of 3/17. We got a large sausage, mushrooms and onion pizza with a side of garlic cheese bread. Hands down the best pizza I've had! The staff was very helpful and positive. Large pizza and cheese bread, softdrinks was under $30. We will go back.”
“Again, had an awesome meal, and the SERVICE WAS WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND A+++++Was gonna go elsewhere for our 20th anniversary, but decided on our usual, John & Nicks, WOW STILL THE BEST in TOWN!!”
“Such great Mexican food. The best margaritas. They have a new banana margarita that is amazing. We had BBQ tacos and Al Pastor. They were both great. Loved the atmosphere. The patio was open.”

“The food was phenomenal, The Big Dog burger was huge and cooked exactly how I asked. Wife's breaded chicken sandwich was excellent as well. Service was good too. The only down side were the extra charges. $1 for a small cup of ranch $1 for a small cup of mayo and then a $1.43 service charge added to the bill. Thought we found our favorite place to eat but the extra charges is a turn off. I know prices are high but dang....”
