“Goodwood BBQ
1140 N Eagle Road, Meridian - 208-884-1021
7849 West Spectrum Street, Boise near the theatres - 208-658-7173
Here are my three favorite appetizers from the locally owned Goodwood Barbecue Company in Meridian and Boise Idaho. Try the fresh made onion rings with buttermilk batter, the loaded Idaho potato skins and the shredded pork quesadilla. I also routinely choose the made in house potato salad as a side dish when ordering an entrée, which is creamy and not mayo based, plus the not overly sweet BBQ beans as the optional "two sides with each entrée." They have a separate lunch menu section for entrees, salads and sandwiches.
The service at both locations is always friendly, they hustle and the restaurants always seem to be a popular lunch and dinner choice, filling up fast.
Reservations are available for large parties. Just call in advance and the table is already set up with menus, silverware, water, etc. While not a separate room, there are two locations in each place that can be set up. We have ended up with as many as 28 people.*
* note the mandatory tip for groups is now 22% and is calculated after the menu price and tax total, effectively bringing it up to 25%. And, if paying separately, be sure to let the individuals in your group know.“

“Our favorite bbq in the area. Everything we’ve had there is flavorful, sauce is amazing, even down to the pickled onions! Good and friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough for a drive thru dinner!“

“VERDICT: The king of noodle takeout. I get the noodles (often dressed down to a meat and a couple veggies). I usually add a kimchi as a side to compliment the free steamed rice.
MORE IN-DEPTH: I have found this location to have the excellent sauces and a great selection of well-prepped ingredients, translating to consistently cooked elements. What sets them apart from the near-identical offerings of other Americanized yakisoba is largely the trifecta of good product, excellent service, and accessibility. The staff is quite accommodating and quick to serve. I'm able to get in-and-out for takeout in a matter of minutes.
Vegetarian options: The noodles are wheat-based and there's a good selection of vegetables and tofu. Given that it's stir-fry, the dish translates well into a vegetarian option.
Dietary restrictions: There's high probability of cross-contamination.
Parking: Plenty of free parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility is reasonable. The counter height might make it more difficult for shorter individuals, but there are several tables (not booths) that would work well with a wheelchair.“
“The BBQ sauce is some of the best I've had. Made by a great family and serving the community and veterans, this company is a great local business that I am happy to support.“

“My family loves this place. We know it’s a chain, but the food options are consistently tasty and offered at a good value. We have had the wings, boneless chicken thighs, ribs, brisket, kids sliders, pulled pork sandwich, fries, garlic mashers, Mac n cheese, and coleslaw. The ribs, garlic mashers, and hush puppies are my favorite, but everything is really yummy! My niece loves the sweet sauce and that there is red cream soda as a drink option. I love that there is a big, communal handwashing sink and a choice of a variety of to-go containers available if you didn’t finish your food.“

“Usually like their food. Eat in 9 out of 10 visits. Ordered take out and very disappointed!!! Mushrooms were yucky. So much grease you could pour off top. The filet I got had a fat chunk in it that was inedible. Corn was ok. Ordered steak salad which was good however on bill I was charged full price when I ordered on phone I wanted lunch portion and price. $55+ for filet, corn, salad and mushrooms is very high even in today's economy. Rethinking coming back. Definitely will be awhile. Wound up with terrible heartburn from greasy mushroom which made for a miserable night. Check your food before you take home.“
