After going to the Apple St location this week, we always get our loaf sliced. The bread slicer was out of order, and unfortunately no employee knew an ETA of when the bread slicer would be functioning again. I would give a higher rating if it was known (by employees who can communicate to customers) when this repair was a priority with ownership.
We moved from Idaho in 2014. Since leaving, we have lived in NC, SC, HI, and now VA. Each year I order boxes of Pumpkin bread. My kids (especially my son) asks me every year to order it. My son said he wanted to go to Boise State when he goes to college just so he can be closer to Zeppole for the Pumpkin bread. 🤣

I’ve been a regular off and on for 20+ years. Always enjoy the breads and soups, and (until now) salads. Not sure if it’s a change in staff, management, or ownership, but my go to to-go lunch (2-4 times/week) has been letting me down.
The pre-made salads, which used to be ample, now contain less than half of the lettuce and toppings than just a few weeks ago. They also have missed some of the toppings here and there. Today, I should have paid more attention when purchasing...read full review
Zeppole Baking Co. is a beloved spot, with family members working there. Their Batards are a hit, with one reviewer devouring almost five on a road trip. The holiday special bread, featuring golden raisins, is a tempting treat. The downtown café is well-staffed, with Maya being a standout employee. The brick-and-mortar location is a treasure, with great service and a mellow atmosphere. Shelves may be bare due to popularity, but the coffee pick-me-up is always a good idea.
