“In the area visiting customer. They suggested Cornett's for lunch. Great local watering hole. Mexican food lunch specials were delicious (I had Taco Salad). Portions were generous and service was good. Was there for lunch on a customer visit,, but sure looked like it would be a good place to have some cocktails. It was clean and well kept. Friendly service.“

“We dropped in for dinner on a lark - we were looking for someplace new. This place is a few blocks off of Rt 38 in Downtown Ashton. It's a bar-restaurant, and that is how it basically works in many small towns. The walls are adorned with a ton of historic photos and articles - if you haven't been here, try to sit at a table near the wall, so you can soak up some of this ambiance. We were promptly greeted (seat yourself) and provided with menus. They had a rib eye special and a New York Strip special, in addition to some reasonably priced dinners. My wife had their fried shrimp dinner with a baked potato, while I had their New York Strip special ($10) with a baked potato. If you order dinner, you get their salad bar, which is small. With that said, it's full of fresh stuff, and the pasta salad was really, really tasty. I almost went back for seconds. Dinner arrived - the shrimp got my wife's seal of approval, and the baked potatoes were properly baked and done, which I appreciated. You can get butter and or sour cream - I had both. The steak was done as ordered - medium rare. It was a typical New York Strip - a decent cut. It tasted okay, and needed some salt. The bar is a full bar - I had a Samuel Adams Summer Shandy, which went down well. This is a nice, quiet place. It was starting to get busy around 6:30 when we were leaving on a Saturday night.“
