“Maria (the Proprietor *&* Chef) literally *is* the best! My 6 year old Grandson and I spent 2.5 hours there today (rainy morning thwarted all holiday plans), .. of which a full hour was spent just talking and hanging with Maria. I know it was an unusually slow day (holiday / rain, etc), .. and this is not a customary thing. And I usually don't have such time either. But that's part of the sweetness .. walking into a place a little slower, more simple, ... and where genuine kindness (especially to the Kiddos) matters! The other Staff is also nice. My Family likes their food, desserts, and drinks. I've only had the pleasure of a scone and tea, and green smoothie (delicious*&* NUTRITIOUS), from previous visits. I also like supporting a homemade foods, .. local, small, woman owned business. Thank you, Maria - .. you're amazing. Thank you, Birdy's.“

“We stopped by Conscious Cup while on a long roadtrip from Minnesota to a Chicago suburb to visit family. This coffee shop was so welcoming, with friendly, speedy service, and delicious food and coffee. I ordered tofu breakfast tacos and a decaf iced latte — and both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for working, sitting and chatting, or in our case, spending quality time with family. I recommend a visit!“

“Came here for the first time and was surprised with their food and service. Bartenders were attentive and served you with a smile. Their nachos were some of the best I’ve had, and the atmosphere puts you a drinking and dancing mood. Definitely will come back and would recommend to friends.“

“We had a delightful stop for a Mother's Day lunch on our way to the Chicago Botanic Garden. Everything from the food and drinks to the music and atmosphere was absolutely fantastic! My wife, Dr. Maryam, opted for the healthy avocado toast with a side salad and hot chai, while my son, Kamran, savored the mac & cheese. I indulged in the grilled cheese, accompanied by a side salad and mushroom coffee. The music, courtesy of La Tosca, was simply magnificent — bravo! Their violin and accordion performance was truly superb. Though I briefly spotted Billy and Chloe, I resisted the urge to fan out and ask for an autograph, thanks to Billy's timely disappearance. Nonetheless, Chloe greeted us kindly, making the experience even more enjoyable. We're definitely planning to revisit for the outstanding food, drinks, music, and ambiance.“

“Absolutely the best pancakes that I have tasted in a very long time.
If you are like me, and steer away from pancakes because they just don't taste as good as your great-grandmother's, you have to eat a stack at this cafe.
The first bite literally took me to my grandmother's table. I could not be happier with my breakfast today.
The service is consistent, the atmosphere is cozy, and.... well you know what I think about the food.

“Food is always fantastic. The avocado toast, the breakfast burritos, and the lunch paninis are bangers, not to mention the brownies (we always grab one to-go).
The owner and employees are all very sweet and the space is vibrant—in the summer the full windows open and it's just a really pleasant spot to grab breakfast or lunch. Would love to see more authentic, small places like this open up and thrive in the North Shore.“

“Long time patron of CB It’s awesome. Visited this location to grab dinner so ate outside with dogs in car so i could see them nice night. While I was eating the manager brought out a couple pieces of fresh crispy bacon and asked if the dogs could have a treat and it was so nice just a little snack. Thats why CB is great and the manager and this location are awesome.“
