The gumbo ya ya is an absolute must have, jerk chicken is crazy good and the meatloaf is classically delish. Even their grilled cheese is fantastic! And if you even think about leaving before dessert, you’re out of your mind. We were trying to be polite and share among the group, but there was a “survival of the fittest” mentality bubbling up at the table and let’s just say we were lucky to leave as friends. Few places leave you with the need to go back the very next day, but I gotta say, I need to go back…like now.“

The only con is the price of a Caesar salad, on our last visit my wife and I each got a Caesar salad to start our meal and the two salads alone was $25.00, everything else was inline with the service and atmosphere which is the best.“

“As a person that grew up on this type of food. this is the most authentic and most savory food in the area. the rice is very good and when u get the mixed grill, the kebabs melt in ur mouth delicious. the falafel is the most on point in the area of peoria. even the sald is soooo good!!!!! the kebbah is seriously the best I've ever had. the shawarma is so good it just makes u wanna come back for more. “Walked in and immediately smelled smoke, not the good kind. It smelled like an ashtray. We ordered fried green tomatoes and they were pretty decent. Then came the 3 meat platter, We had the chicken, pork and brisket. All the meats were pretty dry and had 0 smoke flavor. It reminded me of that store stuff you microwave. Pork was mid. The brisket was off tasting, more like pot roast. The chicken was the worst, no flavor at all and very dry. The baked beans and mashed potatoes were good. Don't know if it was a bad night or what but probly won't be back.“
