“Great diner in Belvidere to take a meal-break on the way to/from Chicago. Not *right off* I-90 but close enough with several gas stations available in-between. Covered outdoor parking for rainy/snowy days. Prices are quite reasonable, and the food is delicious with a wide variety of menu options! Run by loving Latino family, so lots of Spanish everywhere if you're like me who's from California and needs to practice!“
“Ya cannot go wrong with anything on the culvers menu. This place holds so much nostalgia for me but even without the fond memories the food still is good quality. They have consistency, quality, and good flavor in everything they make. It feels fresh and yet it’s still considered “fast food”“
“This place has been a Belvidere staple for many years. They are under different ownership. The food quality is, and has always been great. Service is usually very fast and efficient, but like all places today, that can vary, as it is harder to get and retain staff. But the only complaint with this restaurant is, the pricing. It's a little like going to buy a new car. You never know what you will end up paying. Start with the menu. It lists 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast at under $7.00. It actually is around double that. There are also various add on's they charge for, like using a credit/ debit card. That is not, listed on the menu. I understand the business pays a fee for accepting credit transaction's. However, there are quite a few benefits. First, you do not have to make change with a customer. Not many people realize it, but banks charge their commercial customers a fee per roll, for getting coins. You do not have to count the money, and balance it with expected receipts. Nobody has to take the money to the bank to deposit it, which is a safety risk. A lot of businesses use a service like brinks, which is an additional cost. Credit/ Debit transactions are posted to your account within 24 hours. Cash transactions will depend on when you get the money to the bank, and they count it. On a holiday weekend, it could take 4 days. Most smart businesses might adjust prices 2-3%, if they wanted to pass this cost on. But penalizing customers for using it, is short sighted. And the menu- I am sure there have been quite a few customers who get " sticker shock" from this. I have talked to the owner on a number of occasions. He has complained about how slow they are, during the week. Seems to me, running senior specials during this time period, might help him out. Embracing technology, like credit/ debit cards, is a must. Being honest and forthright by having a menu that actually reflects your prices, should be a given. Belvidere has lost quite a few restaurants since the pandemic. The Stellantis plant is expanding and will be bringing in a lot of new jobs. Your future should be secure. Be honest, and transparent, and the loyalty of Boone county will support you, for years to come. Had a reply from someone who says the menu prices are correct. Unless they printed a new menu while being closed for their plumbing issue, this is not true.“
“The all you can eat riblets were amazing, even my kids loved them. I like the range of sides for the kids menu. Melissa was great and made sure we had everything we needed. We got our food fast and we were very happy.Kid-friendliness: The entree and side options for kids is great. They asked if we would like our kids food first since they cook faster so they didn't have to wait, even though our wait was short already!“
“Fun place for all ages. Menu is overwhelming awesome. Great food choices for any mood and hand cut fresh fries! Life-size Ironman surprised me. I thought he would move! Franchise? I'm interested, St Louis.Kid-friendliness: Every age kid will love this place. They have life size Batman and my son would go crazy; he's 27!“
“I can only speak to their breakfasts but they make one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Stuffed with filling, evenly spaced ingredients, thin tortilla with a nice sear. The chorizo and the regular both are fantastic. The burritos in themselves make me come here. But I also return for the fabulous service. They're always fast and friendly. Great little neighborhood spot and one of our favorites for breakfast!“
“The service from our waitress was good, but for our drinks, we waited 15 minutes +, I think they were short in staff, understandable, the table next to us left, never received their food after 30 minutes + , we got our first, wings so good.“
“Not bad food and decent for the cost. Massive spot but well priced. Good looking menu and good service even on a slow day. Kitchen is well run and food looks good. Luckily, food is priced accordingly.I got the Beef wellington, i can never pass it up. For $39 it lives up to the price tag. However misses the mark… slightly cold and quite bland. It is unfortunately covered in a bland cream that over powers any redeeming quality. Good ingredients, but then a frozen/ premade sauce on top just ruins it. So much potential, but no creativity. Make your own sauce or give it some color and you can charge 10 bucks more.Cheap drinks and good wine list make it redeeming. So much potential being off the highway… disappointing but overall solid.A good sauce would make it a must stop off I-90 Nothing else good in 100 miles.“
“It is absolutely amazing! The food is beyond compare! The Bison Ribeye was the best peace of meat I have ever had and im 57 yrs old. Me and my wife absolutely love it. 100 percent perfect in every way. The staff is wonderful and polite. The atmosphere is one of a kind.“
“This place was chosen as a meet up sone where place for a freind and myself. We had not seen each other in 9 years. To be honest it was choose due to them having on of my favorite wines Freakshow on the menu.We sat at the bar Our bar misterss was attentive. The food portions were generous and flavorful. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the interior is a bit dated and dark. That us just my opinion , others may not feel that way. I will most likley never be in Rockford again. So thank you staff for providing a confortable place to spend a few hours and get cought up with a life long freind.PS Thank you for having Freakshow!“
“I love this place. Legit is one of the only reasons I even bother to go to the Cherry Vale Mall. They always have good service. They always have everything done in a timely manner even if you order multiple smoothies, shakes, anything really.“
“Husband and I went to dinner the food was good and the service was excellent. Ask for Chris she is a great waitress.. A seasoned waitress we didn’t have to ask for anything she was on point.Parking: Parking free close to restaurantKid-friendliness: Bring your kids they have a great menu for kids and delicious desserts“
“So thankful we stumbled upon this hidden gem. We were looking to try a new little spot and didn't realize we would find a new favorite! We shared the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, the Reuben and the Ribs and loved them all. Overall very casual environment with great service from Tim! Thanks for hosting us. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other menu items!“
“Becoming more of a dive bar which is kind of sad. Food good as always, A CRIME that the waffle fries were replaced by generic cafeteria fries. Also look up the review by “Sand Serpent” or search “burger” I have never seen a more woke idiot in my life. Really gave me a laugh and def keeps me coming “
“Absolutely delicious, we've been going here since I was little. Lots of cool knick-knacks in the gift shop. Minus one star because service is usually pretty slow. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and happy individuals though. Food here doesn't seem to be making me sick, so its good in my book! P.S try the sheddar melts! I woke up with a pounding headache, but its worth it!“
“This is a great small town place with extremely friendly service and fun events on different nights of the week. Taco Tuesdays are tasty and light on your wallet. In the cold months there are a variety of apple pie shots to choose from. We enjoy Mort's regularly!“
“Initially, we went to eat for restaurant week. We had the fettuccine that they make in the parmesan wheel, the pork hibachi, the crack dip, and my friend had an alfredo pasta. The pasta was fantastic, however the hibachi was not prepared correctly. I did reach out to the manager, Michelle, and she was fantastic and more than accommodating. We went back again, had the fettuccine and the parmesan wheel and the bolognese pasta. She also brought us the buffalo shrimp appetizer, we had wine, and a couple old fashions. Michelle waited on us personally and made sure that all of our wants and needs were met. I recommend Alchemy to anyone for a nice intimate dinner experience.“
“Usually go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. However, this time we went for dinner and we we're not disappointed. Had catfish and it was done perfectly. Great server: friendly and attentive. Our server's name was Johnnie. He was in training and did an outstanding job.“
“Food good but not terribly imaginative. Service very good, but prices are definitely inflated. We were there during the end of the lunch rush and it was quite noisy. I mean by that many customers who seemed only able to carry on a conversation by shouting as if the table was 50 feet wide between them.“
“Only thing was our hostess who sat us....acted like she didn't want to be there and no smile on her face. (East State, Rockford). She was that way with everyone. She definitely didn't enjoy her job and shouldn't be the face of Applebee's.“
“this was my first time at a longhorn steakhouse bc my friend wanted to go and i was pleasantly surprised! bri/bre (don’t remember how it was spelled on the receipt) was a great server! kind, attentive, and overall lovely. food was good and our steaks were cooked perfectly ☺️ the asparagus was great too!! not to mention the ranch is fire. a little on the pricier side compared to like texas roadhouse but def not horrible. we got there a little before the dinner rush on a friday night so everything came out pretty quick. bre if ur reading this we loved u so much u were amazing, i hope to see u again soon. thank you!! ♥️“
“Had lunch here with my gal pal today and boy, that chicken salad croissant sandwich with sweet potato fries was delicious! We sat at the bar and Kelsey was bartending. She’s a total sweetheart and took very good care of us! Definitely my new fave spot. ?“
“Sorry, did not eat here recently. This has always been a place my family picked for special occasions and celebrations. Everyone of us loved the salad bar. Food has always been good too, but no other place stood out for their salad bar. We are from Wisconsin, there are several dinner clubs closer to us that we also enjoy. Without your exceptional salad bar, we will probably pick other dinner clubs. Wish you the best. Found out when I called for reservations for a birthday celebration next Friday about this change. My friend specifically asked about your salad bar. My family and friends will find another place to celebrate. Weird, but this made me sad. I guess, just thinking about how many celebrations we have had at Hoffman House. Nostalgic moments, knowing that we will probably not be coming in the future. I have ordered food from you for holidays so will probably still do that, salad bar doesn't count for catered food.“
“Had to wonder why there weren't many recent reviews of this Rockford bar. It took a look for it to find out why. Drink isn't exactly an easy bar to find. Kind of hidden in a shopping plaza away and hard to see it. The drinks are cheap and there's a few slots. A pretty hard to find bar. It's in a little shopping plaza at Charles and Perryville. Try finding it by looking for the Great Clips, and Lung Fung, a Chinese restaurant. It's about $5 for Jameson. That's a great price for that. Besides the slots, there's a few TVs for watching games. The bar wasn't that crowded, which wasn't a surprise because not a lot of people seem to know there's a bar here. Basically this place is for drinking and playing slots, pretty much all there is to do. It's got pretty good prices on drinks, which is the best thing about it. There doesn't seem to be food anymore, but maybe that's not a bad thing.“
“Went in to try out the menu with the new owners and WOW! The food was amazing, the service was spectacular and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves! We had a party of 12 plus 2 children and they accommodated us with no problem!Ps- try the guacamole, it was fantastic!“
