“I scoot through here pretty regularly. The staff are always quick and polite, and the drinks are always good! I'm a but addicted to the Chai, in all honesty. But the other day, I tried to come through for my usual only to find the place was closed. A sign was posted on the drive-thru intercom that read: "Sorry, closed due to high temperatures within the building".

At first, I was a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to a little treat before I went into work. But after a bit, I was actually glad to see that.

It's felt frighteningly common for businesses to put profit over employee wellbeing these days. I used to be a pizza delivery driver, and I still have memories of being forced to deliver food during a harsh winter storm in 2016. It was so refreshing to see employees being prioritized over profit, even for just a little bit.

Here's sincerely hoping Scooters continues this behavior, and more businesses follow suit.“

“The food is good, but they keep the dining room absolutely freezing, it is no mistake, they want you to leave as quickly as possible once they have your money. October update: yes, it's October, but they got the air conditioner blasting like it's July... This continues in November. Yes, November and cold air blows from the HVAC unit. They do at least adhere to the McDonald's standard of throwing some wet napkins in your bag.“

“We visited today for the first time. I had an iced caramel latte, and it was outstanding. Loved loved loved the espresso, smooth and not acidic or bitter. I live in the St. Louis area and I will be coming back to Maeva’s , even though it is a 40 minute drive.“

“Absolutely gem in the city. Coffee is amazing, and some of the best I have ever had. Refreshers are also amazing, with a large selection to choose from. Food is also great from the specials that are offered on occasion to the everyday menu, you can always fine something to satisfy your needs/wants. Rachel and Jonas are some of the best people I have met, and I will forever be a customer!“

“Employees are very friendly and patient! Also, we have went twice now and received amazing gluten free bakery items. My 6 year has celiac disease and this absolutely makes her so happy. They also have items marked gluten free in the cooler and the menu as well. Employees are also knowledgeable about it. I couldn’t recommend them enough and want to thank them for being inclusive with the gluten free options! ❤️“

“Stopped in because I needed To use the bathroom as the gas station down the street is absolutely filthy. Had a strawberry rhubarb muffin on a whim and discovered one of the absolute best muffin I’ve ever eaten in my life. Srsly will be thinking about this muffin for days lol. I would get it warm next time tho“

“I just went through the Alton location this morning, as I do often. I got news this morning that a couple I knew got in an accident and passed away so I was crying going through the drive thru. The team members had no idea what was going on, but wrote a very sweet message on my cup and all made sure to wish me a good day. Always good coffee and great customer service. That just put them above every other place in my book. Thank you all.“

“Yesterday, January 14th 2022, I was a customer at the Scooters in Glen Carbon, IL. When I drove up to cash out I noticed that the young women who was waiting on me had her mandated face mask pulled down under both her nose and mouth. To observe this was bothersome to me. I was a customer at around 2:30 p.m.“

“I’m so happy this place has weaved in and out of my existence for the past two and a half decades. The guitar is still there. The chess boards. The giant art. And really cool employees who give extra muffins to hungry bike riders at close of day. Thanks for making a warm and inviting place all these years later, Sarah with an H (what else?)“

“I’m so excited to have Cafe Birdie here in Edwardsville! I have Celiac Disease which makes dining out a health risk instead of an enjoyable experience with friends and family. With that, I rarely dine out. Cafe Birdie has multiple gluten free options and takes GF precautions in the kitchen including switching of gloves and a GF prep station. Their sweet potato fries are delicious and are pan baked, not fried in a “community” fryer where it would get cross contaminated. I love that they have a GF muffin of the day and GF baguettes. Most places only offer sliced sandwich bread so having a different option was nice and it tasted great. ( I had the Tomato Confit on grilled baguette) Today’s muffin was a sweet cornbread with pecans and bacon. I split it with my son who enjoyed it as much as I did. The customer service was great and a special shout out to Addi (hope I spelled that correctly) who took extra time answering all my questions about the menu! Great job Cafe Birdie! We will definitely return soon.“

“Staff is always polite and competent, even during the everyday lunchtime rush. Very few times have I been disappointed by this location. Only complaint is that they don't have knives. The grilled cheese is very big, so I ask for it to be cut in half. But that's just me. I just find it amusing that a chain restaurant does not provide its employees knives. Unless the staff does have knives, and they are simply playing a practical joke on me. So be it: 4 stars.“

“First of all I love Starbucks! But for the last 2 days I've went to the Fairview Heights location to get my same drink. The caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino, and for 2 days straight I've asked for light caramel drizzle because it's too sweet and extra crunch. It even says it on the label stuck to my drink, but yet it's covered in caramel and there's no extra crunch. And I know sometimes we become complacent because we're in a hurry we're making the same drink every day multiple times, but I usually have to get a spoon and scrape it out. I will even pay more next time I go, just to get what I ask for...“

“I go here like twice a week and I've never been disappointed. I usually just get some kind of boba, but it's the only boba in town that I've particularly liked. The strawberrry fruit tea and the hong kong milk tea are to die for. Most things on the menu run sweet, but they warn you about that and you can adjust your order accordingly. The girls are all super nice and even the guy at the poke munch counter greets me when I come in :) the days they have kpop playing inside are my favorite! It's never taken me more than 10 minutes to get my drink after ordering, so I stop in before work a lot.“

They don't make you feel uncomfortable or awkward and I'm both of those things so I would know.
