“There is just no other Chinese food restaurant in the area that measures up to this place. Tried it for the first time tonight and was shocked by how much flavor the food had. The General Tso's chicken was actually spicy and the vegetable lo mein had so many vegetables in it. The crab rangoon is the best I've had in the area, and the egg rolls were huge and stuffed with flavor. And this place is so cheap compared to other places in the area! You get the most for your money, that's for sure. I will only be coming here for my Chinese food from now on.”

“My wife and I visited for the first time today, the BLT with candied bacon was excellent, even Gordon Ramsay would approve. The biscuits and gravy also excellent, staff very accommodating and the owner (from the UK) was very friendly,she told us she will make foods to special order with time and workload permitting. A unique establishment,none corporate, friendly eatery,we highly recommend a visit, they also have an assortment of English tea.”

“First sweet tea was perfect next two were unsweet guess someone forgot to add sugar. We had a group of 10 food was delicious but I guess they aren't used to big groups had trouble getting our order and food items delivered to table and correct but all in all it was delicious and had a good time.”

“We stopped by for a drink after dinner. First impression was an overwhelming smell of smoke. Apparently the room in the back is a smoking lounge and of course the smell leaks out into the main area. We got used to it pretty quickly. It's not nearly as bad as bars used to be. The bartender was great. Drinks were cheap and not too watered down like a lot of places. The music was at a comfortable level. We all enjoyed it and will stop by again if we are out that way.”

“I gave them a picture of a macaw dressed as a pirate for a birthday cake and asked for yellow and red borders. And I put in the notes that it was for a Hawaiian pirates themed birthday party. The absolute hero of a decorator ran with our idea. They put palm trees, a pirate map, beautiful colorful flowers and made sand out of graham cracker crumbs!!! They could’ve done the bare minimum but they went above and beyond and knocked it out of the park. This cake was a masterpiece and the decorator deserves a raise! Thank you so very much!”

“The establishment was trash free and extremely clean. Walking in, I knew they were very busy at the edwardsville location. There was a large group of ministers, a few college kids, and a seated section full. I came in in uniform after a long shift just trying to get a good, fast meal for my kids before I have to do Groundhog Day all over again. Employee “JJ” saw me through the crowd and waved me over to complete my order. He was outgoing, social, and smiled the entire time. That means a lot to people. He thanked me for my service, and refused to accept we all are in it together as I thanked him back. He even somehow made a makeshift table for the ministry group in town so they could all sit together. JJ has customer service figured out already. Whoever his parents are, whoever his manager is, man, I would be proud. I can tell he is a hard worker who is polite and probably doesn’t complain much. Thanks JJ for making my long day just better at the end. I’ll be back!”

“Excellent food and service. Best Italian in the neighborhood. Would have been 5 stars but they really need some type of window covering. It was around 5:30 or so and the sun was beating in my side of the tables eyes. You seriously couldn't see anything. Other than that, which lasted about 45 minutes, the place was perfect.”

“I said hi and got no response from a fellow customer. The counter person seemed business like but not welcoming. The building is unique and spacious. I did not see electrical outets readily available to charge phones or run laptops. It seem like a chic place to take your high school sweet heart, write about the good old days of steam boats or read a good novel. Not like your Starbuck for computers,tablet,iphones.... The spacious space is well lit and great for a couple of good friends to meet or people who know each other. Food came quick, but had to go to counter for butter and the such. Food was tasty and the rest of our interactions with the person who delivered the food and the young lady who handed me butter were redeemingly friendlier. There area for kids to play is close to the door well away from the majority of seating option.”

Food is homemade which is huge plus for me. Fast Eddies definitely takes the backseat here. Junkyard has way better food at much better pricing. .Great signature cocktails too. I recommend the Power Steering Fluid and The Mechanic. The owner was extremely attentive and works hard to keep customers happy.We will definitely be back!”
