“Cool little throwback diner that feels like stepping back into the 1950s. The food is super cheap and very affordable. They’ve got all the classic concession stand staples — burgers, fries, hot dogs, corn dogs — but it’s actually really good food. It’s also one of the historic Route 66 stops, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out.“

“I had a really good time at Dairy Queen. The workers were nice and got my order right. The food tasted good, and the Blizzard was really good and mixed well.

The place was clean and felt nice to sit in. There were a lot of things to choose from on the menu too.

Overall, Dairy Queen is a good place to go if you want something quick and tasty. I would go back again.“

“This location is trying very hard not to be as bad as the reviews say. They are getting there, slowly but surely.
I am a regular customer and have been for the past 7 years. I am probably one of their most difficult customers because I won't accept garbage quality food, and I definitely won't eat it or give it to my family. We have had some ups and downs, but this location has always taken care of my concerns, and you better believe it, I will always address them. :) I don't believe in having to request that my food is made fresh, as it should always be, and not just for me, but for all McDonald's customers...especially at these prices. However, I make sure to say this when placing my order, and I don't mind the wait to get freshly made food. There have been a few issues with orders where an item will be shorted from the order, or will look like it was prepared the day before, but Maraiya (I am sure I misspelled that), has been amazing in rectifying any such issues. Overall, I have had a positive experience, although I had to work for it to get there...in one way or another.“

“Babes is a great bar and reataraunt in Coal City. I stopped in on a Monday night after work to celebrate a friend's birthday and was not disappointed. Walking in the front door, the bar is open and inviting. There are gambling machines and a shuffle board table there to pass the time. I sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by Bri. I ordered a beer and a couple appetizers to start. The kitchen is in the front of the house so you can see your food prepared. The jalapeño poppers were a standard deep fried jalapeño with cream cheese, fried to a perfect brown crust on the outside and a creamy spicy inside. The cheese curds are an above average variety. The batter is salty and crunchy which pairs perfectly with the melted gooey cheese on the inside. Next up was the burger. I ordered a hamburger and fries which was recommended by everyone in the place. It did not disappoint. Grilled to order and seasoned with the confidence of an experienced cook. If you are in the area and want a great meal at a great place, stop in and check them out. I know I will be back when I'm in town.“

“My daughters hosted a 65th birthday party for us at Old School Brewery with Nelly’s catering. We had an odd request, as we usually get their burgers when we go there. My daughters worked with Nelly’s and planned a Burger Bar complete with toppings, potato salad, baked beans, veggies, fruit and green salad! It was amazing! We really enjoyed it and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Thank you for working with us and for making that work! So anyone planning a party and are burger fans, check out their burger bar! “Visited the Clubhouse Coal City with former classmates tonight & had an absolutely awesome dinner. Bloody Mary was top notch & one of our friends ordered a caramel Apple Martini that looked scrumptious 🥰 I ordered the much talked about ribs & was not disappointed ❣️❣️❣️They were fall off the bone tender; dripping with deliciousness ❤️❤️The sauce was a fabulous complex of flavors that satisfies every point on your palate - a 10 star delight on a plate🤩🤩 Salad was super fresh with just the right amount of added extras 😉I ordered the mashed potatoes & again the seasoning was right on point. Service was excellent 😍 I guarantee you I will be back, with more people, as this restaurant does not disappoint!!!“
