They serve some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever had. I’ve tried every single one, and they never disappoint. The shrimp tacos are my personal favorite — packed with flavor — but the tripe, salmon, and steak tacos are also incredibly tasty.

Their nachos are great as well, loaded and satisfying. And you can’t leave without getting one of their horchata drinks… so refreshing and the perfect complement to the meal.

“I like this place. It’s very cozy, and the atmosphere on the weekends has a man playing guitar and nice oldies that remind me of my mom when she used to play her music when i was a child. The service was on point. Waitresses are very polite, and they all come around checking on us, making sure everything was ok. Im saying not just one waitress in assigned to one table all four come to check on you every 10 min. I had a tampiqueña and wanted my skirt steak medium well, and the cooks made my steak well done, unfortunately 😑 but other than that, the flavor from the steak was exactly what I was looking for, seasoned to perfection 👌 bold flavors, rice made nice a fluffy,beans guacamole all in my homade corn tortillas made fresh,mmmmm i just ate and already wantbto go back, lol. “Let's be honest - people come here for the FOOD. It is SO GOOD! I frequented Cocula more often when I lived in the area (before 2019). Now, I just think about how bad I want to come here for years. Well, yesterday, I did it - I came back with a friend (for her first time), and Cocula delivered! I went to my go-to throwback dish - #53 on the menu: Carne Oaxaqueña. I forgot how perfectly crispy all the bacon is, even after they mix it with the sautéed peppers, onions, and tomatoes. The steak is perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. It ALWAYS comes with a fresh side salad, RIPE avocodos, and their authentic rice and beans - I almost forgot how good the rice and, especially, the refried beans are - my friend, who had the floutas, agreed when I mentioned, noting that she ate all of the beans first! When I looked at her plate - yup, they were the only thing gone! I almost forgot to mention how good their homemade salsa is - such good flavor, both the Verde and the Rojo. I would caution if you are ordering take out and order the salsa Rojo, with me (this was about 7 years ago, consistently), they have had a history of giving out lower quality salsa, even when I have emphasized that I want the authentic stuff they give me when I dine in, not that store-bought-quality to-go stuff. Also, at that time period, there was a middle-aged man who would host, and he would overlook me when I would come in for my pick up orders or go to pay my dine-in bill, serving male customers first, ignoring me even though I had been patiently waiting before the male customers. There were several occasions when I would have to redirect him to me to remind him I was waiting first. This latest experience, there were two women hosts, and I did not have that experience, but it's something I remember being a negative about coming here. I am glad I came back and didn't experience anything negative. I want to end on a positive note, so one thing I ALWAYS remember about this place is seeing whole Latin families, like, 20 people from 6 generations of their lineage sitting at 4 tables pushed together - everyone laughing talking, having a good time...then ALL THE FOOD comes, some sizzling on plates, and I am in awe as the servers pass me by with all the aromas, and I am left wondering, what was that?! Is it too rude to ask what THEY ordered?! I notice ALL 20 PEOPLE are no longer talking, they are all eating, because THIS FOOD is SERIOUSLY THAT GOOD!“

“Delicious 100% Authentic Mexican food, freshly prepared. I went with the Zacatecana burger and it did not disappoint at all, I added avocado slices and it enhanced my burger. They are known for their “Quesabirria’s” along with ramen, it was very delicious and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this homey feel restaurant, you will not regret it. Customer service was very nice and fast. Cards are accepted.“

-There are daily specials posted along the wall, but many of them contain typographical errors. The layout also apepars to be random, making it hard to follow.
-The burger special is, in my opinion, one of the few items on the menu that wasn't a particularly great deal. The burger itself is small, not particularly hearty; the meal is mostly just fries.
-The joint is cozy, so seating is limited.“

“Oh boy! It has been a while since I’ve had a good burger! I am sure glad I ordered it on my cheat day. Durango style burger! So good!

- Frijoles and sopa de arroz were so good. My kids had some leftover from their order and it turned into an argument the next day over who would eat it. Both of them wanted it!
-Torta de asada was also very good according to my son.

- I also had a taco de chile relleno and it was delish! I know how hard they are to mKe so I hardy make them at home, well I am glad I got to eat one at Castillos’s.

They also have guizos estilo Durango. They are very good!

There is a small seating area, most of the people get the food to go, but we came from very far and were not about to wait to eat until we got home.
- I tasted their salsa roja with my taco and it was so good, with a nice spiciness level!
-I first tasted their food from a Quinceañera. Portions were plentiful so we had to come to their restaurant to try it again!
