“The name of the restaurant is just right. I tried thier beef fried rice on a quest to find my favorite Chinese restaurant and now I crave thier food (something about the taste is unique and I can seem to place my finger on it or find that anywhere else) every once in a while. I drive an hour from my house just to get it when that craving hits. The customer service is also top notch, really nice and friendly people. 10/10 would recommend“

“My friend and I came in for dinner and had a fantastic time. The restaurant was beautiful, and we were seated as soon as we walked in. The menu was by QR code, which was convenient for a hot pot restaurant because you could order more food at any time. The menu also had suggested cook times for every ingredient which was helpful as this was our first time getting hot pot. We got the ribeye, a portion of noodles, a vegetable plate, and a tomato soup base. The soup base was delicious! The staff were super nice as well, they were very friendly and would frequently come over to check on us. Overall, it was a very good experience and I am very excited to return with more friends. We dined for approximately 2 hours.“

“I loved the texture of their noodles and the rich flavors of the sauces and soups we ordered. The noodle dishes also came with a generous portion of vegetables, which was such a nice surprise. Tt’s hard to find restaurants that provide that much fiber!
The vibe was also great. Honestly, if you told me this place was a Japanese BBQ restaurant, I would believe you.“

“Amazing food, especially the noodle dishes. I try to go here whenever I am in the area.
Personal favorites are the Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. They are also able to accommodate special requests. Want no tail on your shrimp? No problem! They can even do things like make Pad Thai with wide noodles (for a very minor price difference).
When they say spicy, they mean spicy though!“

“Loved it!!! Cozy, nostalgic environment. We had the Crab Rangoon, Chicken Lo Mein, Crispy Sweet & Sour Beef, and Sugar Donuts- all very yummy! Delicious greasy Chinese food, satisfying to eat. Great service! We'll be back, and soon! ☺️“

“They serve up a very generous amount of food for a single order. I’m a vegetarian and they have a very nice selection of fresh veggies in teriyaki sauce that is enough for two meals. Service is prompt and efficient. Don’t be discouraged by the dingy foyer etc…the food is good and plentiful. Friendly service.“

“What a unique dining experience! This Chinese restaurant in Champaign,IL operates on a self-service model that keeps costs down—they don’t charge tips, only a very small cleanup fee.
When you walk in, you grab a menu, notepad, and pen, find your own table, write down the menu item numbers you want, then bring your order to the cashier and pay. They accept both cash and credit cards with no extra fee for card payments.
The menu selection is enormous—probably one of the largest Chinese restaurant menus I’ve ever seen. There are so many options that everyone should be able to find something they like.
Guests also help themselves to tea, drinks, utensils, napkins, and teapots, which makes the whole process simple and efficient. Despite the extensive menu, the food arrived surprisingly fast.
Another plus is the ample parking, making it easy to visit even during busy times.
If you’re looking for delicious food, quick service, great value, and don’t mind a little self-service, this place is definitely worth checking out. I will definitely be back!“

“Good lunch special in a pinch. I miss when it used to be $6 but I suppose inflation gets to the best of us. Always a nice variety of options to choose from as they swap the dishes through the week. Free water / soup is a nice touch. Can get a bit oily, but is made up for by the affordability.“

“What an amazing find! My husband and I had been running errands around Champaign and were getting hungry for dinner. We drove past this place and that, and eventually decided "Rainbow Garden" sounded worth doubling back for. And oh my goodness! First off: the service was PHENOMENAL! We were never rushed but never felt unattended. Our drinks were repeatedly refilled before they were empty. Our food came so much faster than we anticipated! Even paying was quick and easy. Second: the food was honestly some of the best we've ever had. the Pekin duck was nearly perfect (the skin could have been crispier) and the beef fried rice was possibly the best fried rice we've ever had. So flavorful, so full of meat, and the meat was tender and tasty! Third: the whole restaurant was very clean. The bathroom was a little dark, and there's an obstacle in the hallway that makes it not wheelchair accessible, but overall an excellent job. We will be back!“

“I’m very pleased and impressed with China King! From the service, to the food, and everything else. The lady who ran the front end is very sweet and friendly. I felt comfortable when I walked in, and she also helped me navigate the menu. Food came out in just over 5min. I got the chicken and broccoli lunch special with white rice and a crab rangoon. This was just over $10, which is a nice deal. The food was hot, fresh, and tasted excellent. The flavors were plentiful, and the portion was more than fair. I ended up taking some home. I highly recommend, and, I’ve said this about other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I truly think that this is one of, if not the best Chinese cuisine in the C-U area. Definitely will be back.“
“One of my absolute favorite spots in town! This restaurant offers an incredible selection of flavors for Malatang and Malaxiangguo. All the ingredients are laid out beautifully, allowing you to pick exactly what you want – from meats to fresh vegetables and noodles. The ingredients are always super fresh and the broths are rich and flavorful. Whether you're craving something spicy or mild, there's something to choose from.“

“I go here every once in a while. This isn't a place with a dine-in vibe, even if the option exists. The woman at the counter is never friendly or warm, but her husband is kind and that makes up for her borderline-rude welcome. The food is good and prepared pretty quickly.“

“Excellent food, never had a bad meal here. A very good spot if you have a short lunch break, I'm usually in and out within ten minutes. Ordering is sometimes a little awkward because the staff speaks limited English and I speak no Chinese, but pointing and nodding and smiling has always gotten me a wonderful meal anyway. I recommend the roasted pork with mushrooms, comes with mixed veg and a lot of savory sauce for your rice.“

“Daughter and I stopped by this location to pick-up some dinner while we were staying the night in the Champaign area. Place was moderately busy at the time of our arrival, but staff did a great job about keeping things moving along. The young man working the counter, Jaice, was especially personable and helpful.\n\nAs for the food, everything was decent but fairly standard fare for a Panda Express. Not bad but nothing spectacular. Good sized portions. Reasonably priced.“

“My partner and I have ordered Shiquan delivery for years and we love it. We always order the mouth numbing wontons, bokchoy, and cabbage. We went in-person once and the portions were massive! The space is very small, and they're clearly tailored more for delivery than in-service, but they did just fine and we'd have happily gone back, just haven't gotten around to it. They're our comfort lazy order-in restaurant in town.“

“Many Chineses told me this is not traditional Chinese foods, bit American style Chineses food. Whatever, I super like it. The only downside is that they ran out of some dishes, including walnut shrimp, maybe due to summer vacation time of the universality.“

“It was soooo goooood
The crunchies of the fried red peppers the peanuts the green peppers
Then the salty egg tofu was so nice and salty but sweet and the temp is so warm it’s like eating yummy soup with no liquid
The fried sweet and sour pork was okay“
