El Nandú Restaurant is a family-owned place known for the most delicious empanadas in the city. The menu is simple but very good, with favorites like Molleja, sweet breads, and Entraña, which is nicely seasoned and huge. The Tucumana empanada is a must-try, along with jamón y queso and pollo options. The chicken Milanese is thin and well seasoned, and the chimichurri is great. The staff's longevity ensures great service, and the owner is incredibly kind. The empanadas are crispy, fresh, and good, and the desserts are delicious. The sangria is also a highlight. The place has dim lights, live music on Thursdays, and a warming interior with breathtaking paintings. Street parking is available. While the chorizo wasn't a hit with some due to the fennel, the warm service and a visit from the owner make the experience memorable.
