Alfredo was a great, friendly waiter. Lasagna and meatballs with pasta were delicious and we had enough for another meal when we got home. Rum cake, cannoli and Americano and cappuccino - best ever! I love the old school atmosphere, little has changed since my first visit in 1975. Love it!
The Village is a restaurant with history. It really is an interesting experience to dine there.. you feel like you just went back in time. The atmosphere at the Village is gloomy yet warm. The service was excellent; constantly making sure that we were doing ok. I loved the fact that they would bring us clean silverware with every meal. Charming atmosphere; the place is set up like...well, an Italian village, including a waterwheel. There is a variety of food ranging from salads to sandwiches to pasta. (You may end up needing to eat everything with utensils.) Generous portions and a seemingly endless stream of bread pieces and water. The place is within walking distance of the Palmer House if you happen to be staying there.Vegetarian options: There are a variety of large salads for vegetarian consumers.
