Osteria del Pastaio Reviews
Cozy Italian dining spot on the Gold Coast! Wait staff was attentive. Great spot to check off the cheese-wheel table side pasta experience, it was delicious! Enjoyed the selection of wines, focaccia, burrata, and house salad as well. The passionfruit cheesecake was amazing and a great way to quench your sweet tooth at the end of a filling dinner!
The place is amazing! Very cute and intimate with delicious pasta! You must get the pasta cheese wheel! Dinner and a show? Say less!
Amazing service and a fantastic experience! We ordered the viral cheese wheel pasta, and not only did it taste incredible, but the preparation felt like a mini show right in front of us.

Osteria del Pastaio is a neighborhood gem known for its delectable cuisine, including gnocchi and salads. The restaurant offers a nice menu with friendly, charming, and fast service that makes customers feel comfortable. Many customers praise the fresh homemade pasta, especially the short rib gnocchi and duck pappardelle, which are described as melting in the mouth and very flavorful. The pasta wheel pasta is also popular, noted for its creamy texture and entertaining presentation. The outdoor seating is super cute, and the staff is very kind, creating a cozy atmosphere for enjoying meals and conversation.
Recent reviews highlight some standout dishes like roasted veal with tuna sauce and roasted artic char with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and mustard sauce, which are considered superb. The Caesar salad, with homemade dressing that is more parm than anchovy, is solid though not very memorable. The duck pappardelle features more duck than it appears, with generous pieces of duck leg and refreshing cooked tomatoes adding a nice change in texture.
While the menu offers a variety of Italian favorites, some dishes have received mixed reviews. For example, the butternut squash tortellini with shrimp was too salty for one guest, making it inedible, though the homemade focaccia and mushrooms with asparagus were delicious. Customers note that the outdoor seating is especially charming and the service attentive, but some feel the prices, especially for non-meat dishes, are high relative to the quality and ambiance inside. Overall, Osteria del Pastaio is considered a great place for date nights and special occasions, with friendly service contributing to a lovely experience.
