Stopped in for breakfast at The Great American Bagel on Madison. Got an Asiago bagel toasted with plain cream cheese and a coffee. Bagel was fresh and had a good chew, cheese was generous. Place was busy with the morning crowd but the line moved. Grabbed a seat by the window for a few minutes before heading out. Straightforward and solid start to the day.
Well there's three stars for atmosphere cuz I was in and out. They were delicious
This is one of those places that is easy to drive past without realizing how good it is. It is a low key gem just west of the West Loop and a great option if you are looking for breakfast or lunch without dealing with the crowds.
The bagels are fresh, the sandwiches are filling, and there are plenty of lunch options to choose from. It is the kind of place that becomes part of your regular rotation once you find it.
