Appetizers - Meatballs, burrito and bread I thought were just alright - not impressed with them. The wine list does not have many reds by the glass, which I find strange for an Italian restaurant. I got the scallops and mushroom ravioli that was amazing, most expensive dish on the menu $40. The tiramisu was also great.
Went here on NYE before a show across the street at Second City. Superb service, food, and value! All the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. House wine was good and well-priced, salad was yummy, fettuccine with Italian sausage was the best I've ever had and my wife's lasagna special was delicious. All around a great experience and one of our new favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago

Enjoyed our dinner at Gussie’s! First….. that bread thing. Wow, I had to order another one for the table because it was that good! I tried the wild boar pappardelle ragu. The portion was perfect. The sauce was rich and flavorful. Took a little home to enjoy later. Glad we found the place. ??
