old school bakery run by a single man that just celebrated his 80th birthday. spinach pie is just amazing... and has a few other dishes that taste fantastic, even if I cannot pronounce what they are called. cookies are so good too... support this small business.... the proprietor/baker is a kind man.
This was my first experience at Zorba's a hidden gem of one of the very few remaking Greek bakeries in all of Chicago. I have spent time living in Greece but I was born in the us. All baked items are authentic and made from scratch. One bite of the baklava and I was transported back to Athens. Layer upon layer of buttery handmade crispy phyllo drenched in honey and nuts. $2 baklava was a huge portion and super delicious! Spinach pie was $3.50 and a generous portion, plus crispy dough and big chunks of cheese inside. Old man at the front seems to be the baker himself - very kind and heated up the food for us! Will be back for sure!
