The waitresses were so friendly, attentive, and made sure our large group was well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious—the flatbreads were 💯! “Hands-down, the very best sandwich shop in southwestern Illinois. Fantastic, super high quality sandwiches and the most friendly, appreciative Owners and staff any customer could ask for. Very reasonably priced. Every single sandwich my family and I have tried has been a grand slam hit!!!! In another league entirely from Subway, Jimmy John’s, Penn Station, Jersey Mike’s and Bellacino‘s. What is the best bite of a Mama’s on Mill-sandwich.. the first or the last? “Such a great vibe! Seating is so comfortable and spacious. It got really busy while we were there AND they had an event starting in the back, we were still able to have our book club conversation without shouting at each other. The staff is so sweet, food is fantastic and the coffee slaps!“

“A cool little dive bar with pinball machines. On a Sunday night they seem to have some league whereby people play them all night so normal patrons can’t use them. It’s a pretty cool place though, and if you can find a night where you can play pinball or just listen to the jukebox, I’d definitely recommend it. Tiny chef is excellent also and they sell food at a window inside the bar.“

“This was such a nice quiet place tucked away. The meal pictured was just 1 meal we split in half between the two of us. So it's safe to say they don't skimp on the portions. Our wait staff was very friendly and quick with our service. Would very much recommend this for those looking for a smaller town/mom and pop type atmosphere.“

“If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! It was our first time here and it was wonderful!
The owner/lady behind the counter was so helpful and kind. She was extremely welcoming. We got banana bread and another special that a lady recommended. They are absolutely delicious. And she even has macro breakdown if you're concerned about that.
We will most definitely be back!!“

“We came as a large group and were immediately impressed with everything ! The staff made sure we were all taken care of and made to feel very special. We had a great time listening to our server tell us about the different menu items and how they were prepared. You could feel the pride he had in Cafe Nova. He made the whole evening a fun experience, and even volunteered to take several group photos. The food was superb, the appetizers were excellent, the coffees and other drinks were all exceptional ! We all highly recommend trying this fantastic restaurant.“

"Stan, Matt & Marlowe were charming and cordial to all. The owner (Matt/Chef) is one of the nicest and most hospitable folks you'll ever want to meet. Truly cares about his customers. Stay clear of Bill... Why you ask? He was a smug, rude & a disingenuous individual. Brought in six (6) people & spent over $300.00 with no other customers dining that day. He acted like he did us a favor. All of the other employees were wonderful.“

“We recently moved to the neighborhood, and this place has become my 2nd office in the afternoons. I’d been here before in the evenings for beer and pizza, and already loved it, but recently discovered they serve coffee during the day from 10am to 3pm. With coffee, WiFi, and beautiful fall days, this has become my go-to when I need to get work done, but want to enjoy a beautiful day. ALSO…it’s legit good coffee (Goshen roasters) and it’s relatively cheap for a cup of coffee. Great service, rarely crowded during the day, and a great playlist. The food can take a little while, but it’s worth it. Whenever we have friends or family come in from out of town, we love taking them here for dinner and then walking to Ted Drewes afterwards!“

The ice cream was fine but the service was lacking, the store was filthy and the owner and his wife had a difficult task managing the many employees to do tasks, it is rare to see the owner cleaning the dining area when there are 6 employees in proximity on the clock. The owners wife was directing the employees on tasks and all the employees would ask why they needed to do tasks so early. I would continue to hire.“
