“I ordered 2 orders of egg rolls (philly steak & jerk chicken) to try them, and my daughter had the catfish dinner. I called in my order, and I had to call back to ask about sauces as I neglected to ask when ordering. I was informed they were just about to call me becasue they only had 2 jerk chicken egg rolls (a full order comes with 3) and wanted to know if I would be ok with having a Buffalo chicken egg roll as a substitute. I was super excited becaus that ment I could try 3 different flavors. These egg rolls were the best I've ever had... not greasy at all! The flavors OMG... I instantly started telling everyone to try them.... they were a hit all around... the sauces also... yummy (I apologize for forgetting the names)! My daughter informed me she did not care for the fish... she stated it tastes odd... I'm very picky about fish, so trying it was not an option for me. I would like to try their burgers later as I saw a review about them.... and definitely going back for them egg rolls! The inside is not very big ..... would be more appealing if they had seating added or bar tops... but it would probably be too cramped. They have a couple chairs up against the window, and that's it. It's very clean though and the phone exchange was very pleasant surprisingly because customer service is lacking in most of the restaurants in the area.Parking: Parking is not a problem as the lot is very large with people leaving often as most of the places in the strip don't require long term parking.“

“I love this place! The chicken Marsala is incredible! We also had eggplant roll acting as an appetizer, linguine with clams,gnocchi and manicotti! All great and we all have dinner for tomorrow! “Service was good! I appreciate that they have fresh squeezed orange juice but what needs to be changed is the name of their red velvet french toast. It should be red velvet cake roll toasted. I was very disappointed that it was a cake and not bread.“

“I've been here with some friends a couple of times and they don't disappoint. The service is great, the bartenders are really good, the food is really good and it gets a bit crowded but you never feel closed in. The outside accommodation was comfortable even when it was cold out, and the lower level option was great since we had a few more people. I was missing an item and called to explain the situation and they fixed it right away, no hassle or complications. We will definitely be back for our monthly get togethers!!!“

“Oh my gosh!! This is the most amazing place ever. We had fantastic service, fantastic food and such a wonderful time. The food just goes beyond words. I can’t even describe how delicious it is. If you want to have an incredible dining experience, you need to stop in. Our waiter was Don and he did an absolutely perfect job. The hostess greeted us immediately with a pleasant smile and a very polite and professional attitude. Our waiter Don was Very attentive to our needs and very knowledgeable about the specials and everything on the menu. I can’t say enough about our experience. What a reward. “The menu selection was very good. The pork belly tacos had the perfect cook of crispy outside and tender inside pork. The oysters were so fresh, we felt like they had just been pulled out of the water. Our server, Jeff, was very attentive without being annoying. Definitely will be back.“

“Nice local spot with affordable prices ! Small cozy place . So best to get there a little early so you don’t have to wait for a seat . My service was fast and attentive. All the workers are really friendly . I got the Greek French Toast with whip cream . I recommend the Hash Browns . The other dish I shared was the Hobo Skillet . I really enjoyed the cut up potato’s in the dish . Going to come back for lunch next time to try the Sloppy Joe’s . This is a cash only place and they only stay open till 2pm .“

“Very fairly priced hotdogs, polish, burgers and more. There is a nice drink choice with import, domestic, and local area favorites. You have multiple burger choices. There is a wondering, fish and chips, and other choices. Service was stellar. On a Saturday night the restaurant was full. Parking is a little challenging, but does rotate spaces in a timely manner.“

“Ordered a small thin crust from uber eats juss being lazy & not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Pizza sauce is very tasty, wish I had ordered it on the side for dipping my pizza in. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and it was cooked Just how I like it. I will definitely order from here again. The only thing I didn't like was that my pizza wasn't sealed in any type of way to prevent it from being tampered with while it was being delivered. Maybe perhaps some stickers to prevent the box from being open, or put the pizza in a paper bag then staple it up at the end. Otherwise very good pizza.“

“Excellent place for home cooked food. We had liver and onions. None better. The woman who serves and greets was a joy. Her concern for the patrons went beyond serving. I can see why it is a draw. Inside is definitely not modern, but so what. They knew so many people by name and "the usual". Next time I will try breakfast.“

It was around $15, which, when places like McDonald's want $13 for a Big Mac meal, there's really no point in NOT paying the extra $2 for something that tastes this amazing. The person (i'm assuming owner) who took my order was kind and friendly, I felt welcome. You'd be surprised how many places fail at that. “We had a great lunch here! We've been living right around the corner for about a year and just discovered Caffe Milan. The sandwiches we ordered off the restaurant week menu were so good! The chicken salad on a pretzel bun was amazing and the chicken ranch wrap was tasty too. They came with a huge pickle spear too. It was the perfect amount of food! Mary was kind and talked with us. “Mom of the Year here because my 10-year-old said he had the best birthday ever here. I called for info, the response was prompt and helpful. I wasn't sure how many bays to reserve and how much food to order for 25 boys but Kathy and Dominic were very helpful and didn't try to oversell. The host and bar staff were amazing. Sodas were refilled promptly and pizzas, nugs and fries came out on time and hot. The staff was beyond gracious. We are coming back over break so we can play and eat some more and will definitely keep in mind for future parties!“

“The only reason I’m leaving a 4 is because of the ladies restroom. Plenty of soap, no paper towel, and the air dryer was not up to par. There’s a slip and fall risk because of where the sink is in relation to where the hand dryer is. Lots of water on the floor, and the floor is slick. Otherwise, the food was great, and our server was amazing, I think her name was Tiffany. Great menu suggestions and very personable! I’ll definitely be back!“

“Went here for my birthday lunch. I had been hearing about the Parmesan crusted lamb chops. I also had the strawberry margarita and it was delicious and kinda strong. So the lamb chops was recommended to be cooked well. When they came out they were still pretty pink on the middle. I didn't send them back I just figured I'll put them in the airfryer when I get home. Well I wouldn't recommend that because they were cooked through by time I made it home but I don't feel like they worked up good. I will go try them again in the future. The cheesecake was amazing. I'll be back in the future to try them again.“

“De Mar's in Blue Island, IL is a must-visit for anyone in the mood for classic American diner fare. The restaurant has a cozy, old-school feel that instantly transports you to a simpler time. Every time I sit down in a booth it makes me feel like i can talk about nothing, (a Seinfeld reference). The menu is full of classic diner dishes, from hearty breakfast options to juicy burgers and sandwiches to homemade soups and salads. I particularly enjoyed the Tuna melt, which was perfectly put together with just the right amount of cheese and tune on white bread. The French toast was also excellent, with a soft and fluffy texture that melted in my mouth. But if you want the traditional, just order the all American breakfast, 2 sunny side up eggs with hash browns and two slices of bread, along with a cup of coffee. Everything is delicious. The staff at De Mar's are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were quick to offer suggestions on what to order and were always on hand to refill drinks or answer any questions. The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. There is plenty of seating, so you won't have to wait long to be seated, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Overall, I highly recommend De Mar's to anyone looking for a traditional American diner experience. So if you are in the area of Blue Island this restaurant It's a gem, that I plan on returning to in the future.“

“We stoped in on Valentine's Day for dinner. Suprise! No waiting... Had a decent size crowd there with a lot of constant chatter but we had no problem with it. I ordered the Wednesday special...the $5.00 build your own Burger with Chips or Fries (I opted to upcharge to tator tots) It was hot and jucy with crispy tator tots. My friend had the Smoked BBQ Brisket Bowl... We love coming here and look forward to our next visit!“

In general the food options are pretty good, but - I have many friends who are vegan or vegetarian. It's hard to find a place that offers any unique options for them Having a disappointed friend always detracts from a lunch date (A soup or another cooked veggie option would be surprising and delightful!).They were also out of the poppyseed dressing that really makes the salad it's for, that was another 2 friends slightly disappointed. “My girlfriend and I visited last week. Immediately, we were both very enlivened by the warm and personable interactions we received. Our food came quickly and our usual extra requests were met with care. When we were finishing our food which we both enjoyed, the owner who had just come out from working the kitchen to relax and asked us how everything was before sitting down. I made a point to approach and say how good the coleslaw was. The owner responded very appreciatively and explained that they try to make it with good intention. Overall, we felt like we were contributing to the livelihood of good people that took a long time to build. The butterscotch espresso martini is a decadent treat you can't skip. My only critiques are that as a whole, the prices are a bit steep, the space is small and probably not great for a large group, and the tomatoes in the Caprese were disappointingly bland. But if you're looking to spoil yourself and/or someone close to you, this is an excellent venue for it.“

The cheese did not taste like real cheese but more like from a can. This is not a dish I would recommend unless they actually serve it as advertised on their menu. “Food was great, had an egg and cheese crossaint, some spinach, avocado, mushroom, and cheese crepes, the house veggie burger, and crispy eggplant with polenta and goat cheese. The crepe came with only the cheese on the inside and other ingredients on top, and was more of a crispy rather than soft or spongy texture, so somewhat different than I had pictured but they were good. I'd order all of it again! Service was good and attentive. Food was a little slow to come out at times given that the place was pretty empty, but I wasn't in a hurry and was taking my own time, so I didn't mind that. Will definitely return!“

It is a bar, and has limited space, but for 2 of us at lunchtime we had the whole back room that was quiet. Cici was super nice and attentive. We very much enjoyed our visit.“

Our server, Brian, still took care of us even tho it wasn't his section.I also noticed that allot of senior citizens were brought down towards the BACK by the restrooms. I mean, was there no server up front? Odd way to start the night! I was not the only customer who had an issue with how far back we were being taken.There was a woman with a rollator, a person in a wheel chair.... seems to me a bit unfair to put disabled people so far back, by the restrooms.... now, no, I didn't/ don't know what the server situation was, but what I know, for me, on crutches, I feel I should hv been asked if I may have needed closer accommodations, but I wasn't. Anyway, food was good, server was EXCELLENT. Seating, one star!!!!“
