“OMG!!! This place is the bomb, the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, the customer service is phenomenal and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some delicious soul food. I love the dressing, baked chicken, sweet potatoes and muffins. The portions are good, I had enough left over to take some home for a late night snack. Our hostess Ms. Lyn has outstanding service she made sure that my glass was full at all times and that I had everything that I needed. Her smile can light up a room, keep doing a great job and we will see you again very soon. If you have not been here RUUUUUUN‼️“

“Ordered the catfish, shrimp and chicken wings. Also the nachos. All super delicious. The only downside was that the dining area was too hot to eat comfortably. I am visiting out of town and ate at the location. Otherwise, the dining area was clean.“

She is very familiar with event hosting and has a solid understanding of the wedding industry. It was a pleasure to work with Dani for her reliable communication, attention to detail, and professional coordination of vendors and reception timeline. Dani respected our floor plan design so the seating arrangement was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding. There was ample seating and space for our DJ, photo booth, dessert table and a gifts table. Our guests especially loved the food and the open bar. Overall, we were pleased with the entire server staff of The Emerald Green. If you are interested in a beautiful venue to host your next event, we recommend this!“

“They have the best cheeseburger in Chicago. I went there in 2012, and 2013 on Kedzie, and omg it’s the best. I used to live in Highland Indiana and I took public transportation which it was GPTC bus to Downtown Hammond, and pace bus from Downtown Hammond Indiana to Downtown Harvey Illinois, and pace 349 from Harvey Transportation Center to 111th and Western, and CTA Route #112 bus from 111th and Western to 111th and Kedzie. Well now since I finally move to Chicago Auburn Gresham with my fiancé, and now I live 15 minutes away. I take 79th Street bus from 79th and Ashland to 79th and Kedzie, and transfer to CTA Route #52A Southbound and go all way to 111th and Kedzie. I’m even more glad you guys reopened which I had no idea where you guys relocated at Thanks to my friend Tracy for telling me where it is. I went there with my fiancé Raymon. I’m so glad you guys are amazing, and the service was great too. I’ll be back. This place is even very affordable.“

“Cute little restaurant, I love the Fresh Flowers on the Table, the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, it’s like being at my family home with my granny and tee tees, cousins etc sitting around waiting for Breakfast to be done, and omg the food looked Good, taste good and was Hot, everything was fresh. “Let me tell you something, I’ve been dining with Kiya’s Kitchen since we were both back in Indiana! Not only does the food taste like your mama/auntie/granny in that kitchen cooking, but it’s also that same energy you feel when you walk in! Dymica is the sweetest!! I can’t even name a favorite for you because I truly have loved everything I’ve tried from the turkey chops meal, to the fried chicken, to the pot roast, the catfish, to the egg rolls, and also what brought me to this search today: That jerk chicken fried rice she used to offer!! I’m craving it 😂. And don’t get me started on the dessert.. especially that peach cobbler omggg (and I don’t eat everyone’s peach cobbler!). I haven’t been able to stop by like I’d like as of recent with me going back to school and still working FT, but best believe I’ll be making my way that way sooner than later. I’ve attached a few pics of everything I’ve tried. 10/10 for me!“

“I really wanted to love this place because I truly appreciate supporting a family owned business, and the atmosphere had that welcoming, hometown feel. The service was friendly, and you can tell this restaurant means a lot to the people who run it. Unfortunately, the food did not match the experience. Parts of the meal were overcooked and burnt (steak and pork chops), while other items (like the pancakes) were a tad undercooked. It seemed more like an issue with kitchen execution than the quality of ingredients.

I would absolutely come back if the cooking consistency improved, because this business has great potential and the kind of charm you want to support. Hoping they can make some adjustments in the kitchen this could easily be a local favorite with the right chef.“

“We had dinner here this past Tuesday evening. Our server was beyond awesome! I have a gluten allergy and I appreciate Fridays offering a gluten free bun option, my burger was cooked perfect and was delicious! I only wish I lived close as we were staying next door at the Hyatt since my kids were flying out to return to college. Definitely would recommend and will return if I’m back in the area!“

“We were the only ones in the place, so we were totally catered to. Of course it was at an off time on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, which is why we were the only customers. We had a nice chat with the owner, and the food was absolutely delicious. We especially liked that much of it is homemade on site. So good!“
