“I can’t say this enough, the food was amazing & the service was even better. HUGE shoutout to our girl, Megan, that served us! (Those bouy buckets will set you all the way right.) Truly made our experience worth it, from the top tier menu recommendations to the consistently solid customer service. We had such a blast! Megan, you deserve all the praises AND all the raises. Keep doing what you do & we will be back. Did someone say free crab legs?? ?❤️”
“This bar reminds me of one of those bars where it's 5:o'clock somewhere and this is Where!! I stopped in waiting on some friends too come up from Galena thinking Aah I'll just have one little quiet relaxing Sunday drink until they get there. Lol 30 minutes later I was having the time of my life!!! I didn't want to leave.. Lol people were dancing and everyone was super nice from the Bartender to everyone inside!! Plus I don't think I bought one drink haha. everyone was buying Would definitely stop in again. My kind of Place”
“1st time here. The bartender was really friendly and gave me the grand tour of the place. Slot machines, pool table, I was surprised at the different things that were available besides gambling. Love the old school bar with the foot rest. It’s a place you can sit for hours and drink and bs with the bartender (guys she is cute) (ladies she is nice and professional) I’m not much of a gambler, but if I keep coming here I can quit my job. Nice payouts!! It’s like a Kick back to the old school East dubuque days (you know what I mean!!) but way better!!!”
“Kevin and his wife are amazing! Excellent customer service! Very unique decor! Awesome specialty drinks based off the prohibition time! You can tell the owners put their heart and soul into this business! Speakeasy vibe! Highly recommend checking out this establishment!!”
“One of my favorite places to get wings in the area. Other food I've tried is great as well. Staff is always friendly, and occasionally you might catch live music. Great place for food, drinks and possibly some entertainment.”
“Good food, great people, liked the band with the view of one of the Mississippi's bay in the background. They have lots of boat access and We were able to meet our friends on our motorcycles. We will definitely be back.”
“Nothing beats the original footlong chili dog. Had my first one as a kid in the early 60's on the family Sunday road trip to Illinois (Iowa was dry at the time). Anytime I'm back in the area, need to stop in for one, or maybe two.”
“First time here and we were not disappointed! Relaxing atmosphere, beautiful views and perfectly prepared food! Drinks were amazing! And our server Olivia was incredible! We will definitely make the trip back!”
“Me and my girlfriend are a regular at beakers, and every time I go there I have such a wonderful experience, the coffee is amazing, the selection is amazing, and I quite enjoy the good conversation. Coffee or lotus drinks are made perfectly every single time, and honestly I have to say beakers coffee is better then Starbucks. So if anyone is reading this give beakers the ole college try and I promise that you won't be disappointed.”
“Great coffee, fantastic food (one of the best is town!), and whoever decorated this place, has a wonderful aesthetic! The place has a cool vibe. I love everything about it!”
“My wife and I had lunch here yesterday and the food and beer were FANTASTIC!! We really enjoyed our meal and Chad was great. We always ask about local beers and recommendations for food and he happily took his time with us. We felt very welcomed. We had a great experience. You can't go wrong having lunch here! Thanks, Chad, you have a great place.”
“So much fun! We went with our two kids for a couple drinks, food and then discovered the game room. We all had so much fun! We went back to next night for more fun. We will definitely visit again when we’re back in town.”
“This little mom and pop shop is good to go, especially if you're looking for some healthy options. So they have this green drink/smoothie, which is really good. Restaurants and bathrooms were clean, too. parking is good, and just a well ran establishment with friendly people that work there. If you are looking for something in the city that's different and not too pricey, this is a good choice.”
“My dad and I came here because we found them on the find me gf app, due to my celiac's disease. This was an amazing find!! I typically don't leave reviews for places unless that are exceptional. It was amazing value for the food you get. They were very diligent to be extremely cautious and use aluminum tissue to protect against cross contamination. The staff were extremely friendly, and the place is clean. I would also like to mention the inclusivity aspect. My dad is a huge fan of the gender neutral bathrooms for efficiency, but I like them for inclusion (and efficiency). ALSO!! The gf bread isn't sad like most places serve... it's great bread!!! I got the farmer's daughter without cheese... terrific!! Highly recommend if you have celiac's disease or are avoiding gluten. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. ?”
“Yesterday, I stopped by Candle Ready Cakes, and it was a great experience! The macarons were flawless, and the gluten-free cupcakes were delicious. The new store is charming as well. I highly recommended for anyone with a sweet tooth!”
“We love coming to Brazen and it's really our capstone dining experience when in the Dubuque / Galena area. The menu seems to be getting more extraordinary each time we visit, which is remarkable given the tremendous talent in the kitchen. There are so many crowd pleasing options on the menu but what really struck us this visit were the vegan options which is saying something since we recently came back from a trip to NYC which included a visit to 11 Madison Park where we enjoyed its vegan prix-fix.This visit I had the beet soup (amazing) and we both had the vegan butternut squash as our main - elegant, approachable and delectable. Subtle mastery of a dish that's straight forward but layered in complexity. For dessert, the vegan Swiss roll was truly a standout and should not be missed. The kids feasted on a generous, perfectly cooked and sliced NY strip which screamed welcome to the Midwest with an amazingly flavorful but not overwhelming horseradish cheese sauce and prodigious bunch of perfectly cooked fries. Lucky for the adults, we escaped with leftovers and so I am not unhappy about lunch tomorrow. On the beverage side, Brazen also really delights - the wines were thoughtfully selected and the cocktails were very well crafted. The immediate neighborhood has lots of fun after dinner options which is a great plus. The service at Brazen is also a treat as well. It's particularly remarkable in the post pandemic era that this restaurant delivers friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere that is suitable for foodies, diverse groups and families alike.Make the trip and visit if you are close by - you will be delighted by this standout dining experience.”
“A chef friend recommended Frannie's to us a few weeks ago, so the next time we were in Dubuque, we had to stop in. Some of the best BBQ brisket I've ever had. The baked beans had brisket and peaches in them...so dang good. I highly recommend Frannie's. We're definitely coming back next time we're in the area.”
“This is a wonderful establishment with delicious drinks and an even better atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and super knowledgeable making for an easy experience of you've never tried kava kava before. Go give them a try!!”
“Love their food, drinks and restaurant. They the best quinoa bowls, breakfast burritos. Their salsas are so fresh and actually colorful. Always get their caramel lattes abd for sure one to go. If you love crescents, you must try their almond crescents. If you like chickens , say hi to the chickens they care for and see how their gardens are doing.”
“Brought in friends to celebrate a birthday. Kim and her staff we amazing. We told her to create the menu for us and she brought us a beautiful menu. Everything was delicious and our guests got to take a bunch of leftovers home. The staff and service was fantastic and the cocktails Russ made were delicious. It was a great evening all around.”
“Great food, especially vegetarian options. Good drinks, the bartender didn't know how to make one of our drink orders (a martini vesper), but very happy with one of their specialty drinks.”
“A nice coffee shop and bistro. They have a bit more selection on the menu and stay open a little later than other local shops. A very popular place that tends to be busy, and you can decide if that's a plus or not. Definitely a good choice for eats and coffee drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: I noticed stairs in the front and back.”
“We stopped here by luck when we where in town for a weekend getaway. So thankful google maps lead us here for coffee! The vibe was amazing! Prices are wonderful! 2 coffee drinks for $7 and some change! If we are ever back in Dubuque I will be stopping again!”
“Pizza was made fast and delicious as always. Staff is always friendly. Becky delivered our pizza to our table n refilled our drinks which usually we do it ourself. Always need to stop when we are in town from Florida.”
“Been wanting to try this place for months now and so glad I did! Staff was super nice, great drink menu and many non - alcoholic options! Awesome music selection, and I would love to come back to see an artist perform. Burger was absolutely delicious, one of the best I've had in Dubuque. I will be back to try more of their menu and drinks!”
