“I don't know why I'm so out of the loop with what's going on in Lincoln Park, but just like a restaurant across the street from here, I have NEVER heard of this place. I used to hang out in this area for three years straight for dance class and grad school and just totally overlooked it. It was founded in 1988, and I have no clue when it came to Chicago though so maybe I didn't. I just had a sweet tooth after leaving Blue Sushi across the street (and didn't realize they had a dessert menu). I could not care less about cake, donuts or pie, but I can demolish ice cream and/or candy like nobody's business. The problem is, as a second-round vegan, it's tough for me to find nondairy desserts. I poked my head in here 99.9% sure they were going to say everything was dairy. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a new Silk chocolate almond milk ice cream. I wish I caught the lady's name that was there today because she was so bubbly and friendly. When I stared at her in confusion after she asked me did I want "Like it, Love It or Gotta Have It," I realized this order was about to be involved. I like the way that the employees mix your toppings around in the ice cream instead of dumping them on top where you end up eating them way too fast. A family member stopped to take my pic while I tasted a spoonful, and I guess I looked extra happy because I caught the lady behind the counter smile as big as I did. Happiness is contagious.Anyway, love the place. Love my almond milk frozen dessert. There's only one table to sit at and someone was there, so I flopped down on a nearby bench and enjoyed my birthday sweet!“
“I was parking and saw a crowd of people hovering around a storefront like they were waiting for doors to open for the Nordstrom Semi Annual Sale! Thus, I had to walk over and see what all the fuss was about. Tons of people were waiting outside in the cold for pastries. I looked at the menu on the window and noticed all the pastries are gluten free and they have a large selection of vegan options! There were so many vegan options that I bared the cold trying to make a decision. I settled on the vegan brownie. The staff were all friendly and processed orders quickly. While walking, I tasted a piece of the vegan brownie. It was simply, AMAZING! I can’t wait to go back and try other vegan pastry options.“
“Our wedding cake was BEAUTIFUL and SCRUMPTIOUS! It looked and tasted EXACTLY like I wanted it to! It was minimally decorated with a beautiful, rustic look. I just loved the buttery cake and the fluffy icing. It was rich and moist and buttery and not too sweet! Yum yum yum! We have about 12 slices in the freezer and I eat one every day. Thank you Melissa for your professionalism throughout the entire process and for your creativity. The cake was truly a highlight for everyone!“
“My favorite bakery ever, if i could live next door id move in a heartbeat. Every experience I had here was great. The people at the counter are always so nice. Recently I made a large order and they forgot to put in a pastry. When i told them, they were super receptive and gave me a refund. I recommend this place a hundred times over.“

“North Shore Bakery Rocks!! I have been going to this amazing Bakery since High School and let me tell you..... I love the bagels, challah bread, and cinnamon coffee cake. “This was my all time favorite bakery, lemon cupcakes being the absolute best. It’s still just as charming and delicious after all these years. They now have gluten free options which is fantastic, but maybe call before heading over because they were all out of the cupcakes when we went there, however, they had a huge fresh gluten free sugar cookie with frosting and sprinkles that was a wonderful treat!“

“Stopped in since most of the reviews on Google were good. Was originally planning on getting a plain cheesecake with strawberries on top, but the lady at the counter said they also had a mango cheesecake. Knowing my wife loves both cheesecake and mangoes, and considering this was supposed to be a dessert for our anniversary, I went with the mango cheesecake. The person working the front then asked if I would prefer to order one for tomorrow (since this was close to the end of their day) so it was made fresh in the morning and I wasn't getting an end of day cheesecake. The one in the case was made the morning that I bought it, so I wasn't too worried. The cheesecake did not disappoint. Was flavorful, soft, and had a great mouth-feel. I would also recommend the sugar cookies. My daughter doesn't normally (read as almost never) eat sweets, but she decided she wanted a cookie and actually ate it. Staff was nice, place was clean, and the food was good. Would definitely recommend.“
“DeliPan on Harlem and Schubert THIS IS THE BEST BREAD IVE EVER HAD! They got a new customer, my kids and my wife were so happy! And señora Martha was really nice and helpful. I had never tasted the Guatemalan bread and now it’s probably one of my favorite! 100/100 recommend. Also they’re taking a lot of extra precautions during all of this. I stayed in my car for a minute and they went and wiped the doors and bread cabinets, Thanks DeliPan!!“
“Chef Cheryl is a master at her craft! You will never taste frosting this well balanced and light and fluffy and a smile in every bite! She took on a two cake order with less than a weeks notice and they were a huge hit at my sister’s wedding with almost every guest asking for seconds and demanding to know where they were from! We had the cinnamon cream cheese 12” cake and the raspberry lemon 8”! I’m ordering all my baking needs from Chef Cheryl! Please be sure that you do the same to sweeten your life!“
“One of my favorite places to go for cupcakes. The quality and flavor are top-notch. With that said, the selection can feel a bit limited, and I'd love to see them occasionally shake up the menu so there is less ingredient crossover - though what they have is quite unique. Overall, though, a wonderful place to grab some dessert!“

My biggest surprise was the Old Fashion Oatmeal cookie, there are not your grandmother’s oatmeal cookies, these are amazing! “My son’s birthday party was reptile themed and he picked out a cake he saw on the web with a snake on top. I called around local bakeries and none quoted me as reasonably as ST did. He also wanted all choc cake and filling, which I worried would be an overload and too sweet from past experiences. The bakery was able to do it in just a few days notice and it turned out even BETTER looking than the one we provided as the idea. They took the time to put more details than the photo and the snake on top was truly a great work of art. The inside was moist and delicious, I was so pleased that they didn’t overdo the chocolate and made it rich and creamy rather than too much after a slice. Everyone had seconds and it was a hit. Hats off to the decorators who knew exactly how to make it right!“
