Jennivee's Bakery & Cafe is a genuine Chicago gem. Quality is excellent and taste is great, but it is VERY pricey—a slice of cake sets you back 11 bucks. The Mango cake is heavenly and so good, and the chocolate cake for a birthday was so great that everybody was ranting and raving. The cupcakes are HUGE, with a wide variety for individual needs. Drip coffee was excellent, and a cappuccino is recommended, though the goods are not light fare so a walk is suggested after. The vibe is bright, very welcoming, and very Insta appropriate and picturesque. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the pictures don’t do it justice enough. This is an amazing spot and an absolute most favorite bakery for long-time customers. It is Asian owned and LGBTQ supporting. While the bakery has grown into a full on cafe, one employee named Dom is a gem. Dom handled a last minute request for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor, staying calm and swift despite a long line. Dom keeps the love for the bakery alive with great work ethic. However, getting in touch through phone or text can be tough, and sometimes one person working there is kind of very mean. Despite this, the bakery creates food magic and feels like it has been there forever.
