“Not the best dog or polish in Chicago, but definitely in the top ten. This from someone who has been shoving them into his face for over sixty-five years. I've been to 'em all on the north side - Lerner's, the Ranch,' the Pit, Sammy Skobel's, Wolfy's, Fluky's, Dear Franks', Michaels, Stashes, Mutt and Jeff's, Shmendels, and all of the Irvings. ALL of them. Little Island stands right up there. What they do have that is the best in Cook County are their fries. Best ever. They don't travel well, so have them there. Grilled polish is outstanding. And NEVER, EVER, EVER order a dog or a Polishj with anything red - ketchup OR tomato. Two stars for atmosphere - if that's important to you, go to Portillo's.“

I can’t wait to come back and try the unique dogs and sausages they offer. Cool art everywhere and just a good vibe. The pickles and the sport peppers are incredible. For starters they messed up the order of two hotdogs with fries. Instead we received two overcooked polish sausage with greasy fries. I couldn’t consume more than two bites of either. It was obvious the grill and oil from deep fryer aren’t routinely cleaned. Failed on a grand scale!!!! Never going back to Jr’s.“

I'm usually a skin on, flaccid fry lover (no jokes, please) but the fries here are crispy and thin without being overly salted. Gyros, off the spit, was generously portioned. Jack's is a solid choice for great Chicago-stand food!“

“The guy behind the counter was a little gruff and curt with me, but once he saw that I had my dog with me, he warmed up a bit. Otherwise, the hot dogs were tasty, but I was expecting more tots than what was served to me. Also, the way that the restaurant was shot in the photos listed online were very deceptive; way smaller space than expected, and really no place to sit and enjoy your food.“

“They have a really good smash burger that they cook on the flat top to order. It was juicy and flavorful and their house sauce was better than any condiment you could put on a burger. Surprised they don’t have bacon. I tried to add bacon to my double burger and they abruptly said they don’t have bacon. Fries are pretty good too.
