“Hands down to the best ramen and Japanese curry place in the South Loop! Everything was delicious! I went twice during my 3 days vacation in Chicago. I was so lucky that Chinatown was only 15min walking from my hotel. I wish I could go anytime I want but I live too far.Service is super great! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food. For sure I’ll be back whenever I’m close.“

“My fiancé and I stopped in for an early dinner yesterday, and were very pleased with the experience. Our server was amazing: all smiles, patient, and polite. We ordered 4 of their fruit teas (Dragon, 2 Mango & passion fruit) and they did not disappoint. The dumplings were probably my favorite part, the spicy beef ramen was delicious and filling, and while the crab Rangoon was a little too sweet for my taste, it was still yummy. Everything was hot, fresh, fast and beautifully displayed. 10/10 will be back again!“

“Where else can you go and have entrees go by on a conveyor? Makes it interesting just waiting to see what is coming next. If you don't see what you want then you can order what you want and it is delivered by a special train. Also the food is priced by the color of the plate.“

“Good ramen with a chill atmosphere. Seating is unique and comfortable and the service is top notch. In addition to all of this, the prices are also quite reasonable for what you get. I will definitely keep coming back and tell my friends about this spot!“

“Food was amazing. The gyoza and sushi were top notch and the ramen really took me back to my time in Japan. The vibe of the hole in the wall restruant is perfect for a date night with a significant other. I will be coming back here frequently.“

“ (foodies will rejoice!) (great staff!)Atmosphere: (lovely environment!)I'm completely blown away by the level of ramen that comes out of this restaurant. Strings Ramen Shop - Hyde Park (just like my experiences at Strings on the Northside of Chicago and Chinatown, Chicago) has been breathtaking. The level of taste, visual, and skill that Strings had with making this ramen is amazing. Located in the Chicago Hyde Park area, Strings Ramen Shop is a restaurant everyone needs to experience. From the food, service, and atmosphere, everything is wonderful. As I mentioned above, the ramen is breathtaking. The textures and taste of the Tonkotsu Ramen are very nice. A big bowl of this any season is ideal, and the other menu items are just as good. The service is great! The staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The water cups stay full, and the staff attend to every need. The atmosphere was clean and full of culture. Watching documentaries of where ramen shops originated, you can see some similarities. I appreciated the atmosphere.Great restaurant from Hyde Park and the other two shops. This ramen needs to be on everyone's bucket list when visiting Chicago.Vegetarian options: For vegetarian foodies, there's some great options.Parking: There's challenges finding parking in Hyde Park.Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly restaurant!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility appears great!“

“Food is great. It's a cute little shop worth eating at. The meat lovers ramen was so delicious and definitely didn't disappoint with the amount of meat in it. The shrimp churro was tasty as well. The service was great the waitress were attentive.“

“I had my order to go, the broth was great and so was the pork. I do think it had an okay amount of spice for it being “spicy” but I think I will order more chili next time. The noodles for me were too springy, but next time I just have to tell them to cook them longer. I got extra pork since I felt it wouldn’t have been enough and it’s a good thing I ordered the extra. BEST crab ragoons I ever had! And they were full, usually they skimp on the ration filling but they were amazing. I am definitely going back to eat there ?“

“You need to get to here! ? This #hiddengem recently made Infatuation Chicagos list of best ramen places in the city and they’re the only ramen spot staying open until 1:30am! Yes, you can still eat good, late. The Japanese food here is to be enjoyed in their izakaya vibes, which are casual pubs that you can grab lots of small dishes to sample.Honorable mention to the Chicken Curry Ramen and Taiyaki with ice cream - my two favorite items from my visit! I also had a really good Mai Tai and lychee martini.Go check them out for some good food and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“

“I LOVE takoyaki but it's almost impossible to find on the South Side. This was perfect. Soft and savory. The crispy chicken ramen was flavorful and plentiful. A quiet and serene environment. Our for was served quickly and it was piping hot! I would definitely recommend.“
