“Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. He has an egg allergy and all the vegan cakes & cupcakes we tried from other places were very dense and did not taste like what we are used to cake tasting like. So once I found this shop, seeing all the positive reviews, I had high hopes and they did not disappoint! The best cake I’ve ever had and of course my son loved it. It did not really taste like it had chocolate… it was still delicious, but it tasted more like an apples strudel and banana bread mix—yummy but not chocolate babka lol

The smoked ham brown grainy mustard + Gruyère croissant ($7.50) ⭐️2/5
This didn’t hit it for me :/ If you know you love gruyère cheese, then I say give it a go, if you’re unsure, probably try something else?

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“I have been enjoying breads and pastries from New Dokil my whole life from various asian grocery stores (Joong Boo, Hmart, Tai Nam, Park to Shop) and always get something the moment I see it. My favorites have to be the white bean bread, every cream bread, and mocha castella. Always fresh, super soft, and not too sweet. I would like to visit the main location one day for a special occasion cake.“

“I can’t say enough great things about this place, I make a stop every chance I get! I’ve tried nearly everything, but the Kale scones are amazing! The coffee drinks are great and delicious. I’m a full time working mom, and my parents who watch my baby while I work said the only payment they need is a box of broken tart pastries! The people there are great, they really work as a team and are super efficient. Saturdays beware though, people are lined up, and for good reason!“

The store is too small and it’s confuse because there are two lines, one for order and one for pickup, because of the size of the store it’s kind a mess“

“Mr Cake Never Disappoints. The staff is so incredibly friendly and pay attention to detail. Their cakes are always rich in flavor, soft and never dry. I have ordered a lot of cakes from them in the past but this time around I had to order my cake over the phone since I could not make it in. “Without a doubt, the best bagel I’ve had in Chicago.
Authentic NY style bagel spot with tons of baked goods.
Bagel is amazingly crispy and the everything had so much flavor without just being overly salty like some places do.
Also got a bialy and the cream cheese was fantastic! Brings me right back to visiting my uncle in New York as a kid.
