We have a little boy with Autism and it's not safe for him to sit in front by the busy street because he runs. Wish we could go inside to enjoy donuts & coffee knowing it's something our son would truly enjoy.“

“I grew up in Western Springs, in a house on the “other side of the tracks”. Almost every Sunday, my father and I would go to Kirschbaum’s for a dozen donuts. Those donuts were sooo good.“

“Entering this place it can seem hectic if it’s rush hour. But rest assured the workers here are so efficient. The food here is so good! They have many combinations that attend to all palettes. Their smoothies are amazing I love the strawberry the best. I stop here whenever I can.“

“Wow! We had the best time yesterday at Crave Cookie Lombard! My two children wanted to try it out so we went in. First impressions, it’s very clean and welcoming! We tried the Dubai strawberry cup, the cookie milk shake and a loaded soda! All were very delicious. It was the best loaded soda I’ve ever had! Our host the owner’s niece took the extra time to talk with us and told us a little bit about the family business. She even gave us free samples of warm chocolate chip cookies! They were so yummy! “Broken Tart is honestly one of our favorite coffee spots around Oak Park. The staff is always professional and welcoming, and the whole place just has a great vibe. Their coffee is so delicious,smooth, flavorful, and always consistent. And their pastries are next level. Everything tastes as good as it looks. The inside is cozy and clean, and the outdoor seating is perfect when you want to relax for a bit. Just a great place all around.“

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

I ordered a cake for a med school graduation that looked like a doc white coat and she knocked it out of the park! She sent me a picture the day before and I asked for a small change and she was so kind and heard me out and wanted to make sure her customer felt like they were part of the process!

“You know why I frequent Alwatan Bakery? Insha’Allah “God wills it” Their halal food is the best, I go there frequently for breakfast. I wouldn’t give that McDonald’s crap, or any other fast food to an abandoned starving stray dog on the street.“

“I live on the East Coast with family in the area so I am in a few times a year. This is one place I insist on going every time. The donuts are truly amazing, think the early days of Krispy Kreme, light and fluffy then this place picks it up considerably. This time I had a Pineapple donut, which I did not know was a thing, it was so good it hurt Two pieces of advice for visitors.
1. However many you get be prepared to eat them all.
2. For those giving stupid 1 star reviews because they felt like a donut at noon, can't blame you but still, understanding the perishable food industry would help. They just can't keep making donuts all day since they don't carry over well at all. Get out of the rack and go get these delicious donuts in the early AM as nature intended.
To the owners, great job, perhaps change the posted hours to reflect you close when sold out, which occurs daily. That would help satisfy the 1 PM donut eaters who will just need to get moving.“
