The food is celestially delicious 😋. I ordered the garlicky chicken shawarma bowl. He kindly offered me another salad in place of the rice which was, kao, broccoli, and feta cheese mixed with jalapeño.

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

Here’s what can get better and what will get me to stop more often. Let me add some hummus to my chicken pita. Maybe a couple tablespoons? Maybe for a small up charge? They don’t offer that option. I had to buy a side of hummus for $8 to enjoy a little hummus with my chicken pita. And then the side came with only ONE piece of bread. The hummus is REALLY good, but now I have a big bowl of hummus with no more bread to enjoy it with. Also, I prefer my hummus without pools of oil in it. A little drizzle, okay. But why drown the hummus flavor with so much oil? Anyway. Good place. Could be better. I’ll give them a try again and update my review if they’re able to raise the bar a little bit.“

Family-owned businesses are typically the ones that have the best food because they do not necessarily look into mainstreaming menus and recipes. with smaller restaurants, you can typically find amazing price opportunities as well as some unique food that has not been released to the broad market. It almost makes locations like this become a treasure if you come across them. Huge shout-out for Lola's. Amazing dogs, burgers, shakes! give them a try when you get the chance. We had curry with rice, drunken noodles, and two orders of “chef’s gone crazy”—the chef cooked whatever he wanted for us and they were both pleasant surprises!
